Corinne Steer shared this🚀 Marketing isn't a cost centre. It's either a growth engine… or it's costing you growth. The fastest-growing technology companies don't ask: "How many campaigns did marketing deliver?" They ask: ✅ How much pipeline did marketing create? ✅ How much revenue did marketing influence? ✅ How fast are we acquiring customers? ✅ What's our return on marketing investment (ROMI)? That's a very different conversation. Too many marketing teams are still measured by activity: 📧 Emails sent 🎯 Campaigns launched 📈 Website traffic 👍 Social engagement Interesting metrics. But they don't pay the bills. The businesses that consistently outperform their competitors build marketing around commercial outcomes. That means: 🎯 A clear go-to-market strategy 🤝 Sales and marketing aligned around revenue 📊 Predictable pipeline generation 🚀 Demand generation—not just lead generation 💡 Product positioning that differentiates rather than discounts 📈 Marketing measured by pipeline, revenue and ROI This is where experienced Fractional CMO leadership makes the biggest impact. Not by creating more marketing. By creating better commercial decisions. By ensuring every marketing investment answers one question: Will this help grow the business? I've spent more than 20 years helping enterprise software, SaaS, AI and technology companies across EMEA and globally transform marketing into a measurable driver of pipeline, revenue and business growth. Because the best marketing functions don't just support sales. They become one of the company's most valuable commercial assets. 💬 If you're a founder, CEO, investor or PE-backed business asking whether your marketing is delivering the commercial impact it should, I'd be delighted to have an informal conversation. https://lnkd.in/es76aCZf To read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eBWebxw5 #FractionalCMO #B2BMarketing #RevenueGrowth #DemandGeneration #PipelineGeneration #GoToMarket #MarketingStrategy #SaaS #EnterpriseSoftware #PrivateEquity #ScaleUp #MarketingLeadership #RevenueOperations #BusinessGrowth #AI #DigitalTransformation #PowerBI #CPM #EPM #recruitment #techinvestors #hg #crystalcapitalpartners #vistaequitypartners #insightpartners #thomabravo #growcfo

Corinne Steer shared this🚨 Unpopular opinion... Sometimes your biggest barrier to growth isn't Sales. It isn't Product. It isn't budget. 👉 It's Marketing. Not because your marketing team lacks talent... But because they've become the bottleneck. I see it all the time. Businesses grow. 📈 Revenue targets increase. 🌍 New markets open. 🚀 New products launch. 🤝 Sales teams expand. 💼 Investors demand faster growth. But marketing? It's still operating with the same structure, the same priorities and the same mindset it had years ago. The result? ❌ Everyone is waiting for marketing. ❌ Every request is "urgent." ❌ The team is permanently busy. ❌ Pipeline becomes unpredictable. ❌ Growth starts to slow. Here's the uncomfortable truth... Being busy isn't the same as creating business value. Marketing shouldn't exist to produce: 📄 Brochures. 📧 Emails. 🎤 Webinars. 📱 Social posts. 🎨 Creative assets. Marketing exists to: ✅ Build predictable pipeline. ✅ Strengthen your go-to-market strategy. ✅ Differentiate your business. ✅ Align sales and marketing. ✅ Create demand. ✅ Drive revenue. The highest-performing marketing teams don't say "yes" to everything. They focus relentlessly on the activities that generate commercial outcomes. 💡 Marketing shouldn't be the factory. It should be one of the most powerful growth engines in the business. If your marketing team feels overwhelmed, reactive or permanently firefighting... The issue may not be capability. It may be leadership, prioritisation and focus. That's exactly why more organisations are bringing in experienced Fractional CMOs—to transform marketing from an internal service function into a measurable driver of pipeline growth, revenue and business performance. 👉 I've written a new article exploring why marketing teams become bottlenecks, how to spot the warning signs and what high-growth businesses do differently. I'd love to hear your thoughts... Has marketing become a growth engine in your business—or a bottleneck?Read the full article at: https://lnkd.in/eW_izbWn #FractionalCMO #MarketingLeadership #PipelineGrowth #DemandGeneration #RevenueMarketing #GoToMarket #B2BMarketing #SaaS #EnterpriseSoftware #MarketingStrategy #BusinessGrowth #MarketingTransformation #SalesAndMarketing #Leadership #Growth #EPM #CPM #data #PowerBI #write-back #AI

Corinne Steer shared this🚀 Your marketing doesn't have a lead problem. It has a pipeline problem. Or more accurately... It probably has a marketing leadership problem. I regularly speak with CEOs and business leaders who tell me: 💬 "We're investing in marketing, but we're just not seeing enough qualified pipeline." The interesting part? Marketing teams are working incredibly hard. ✅ Campaigns are live. ✅ Content is being published. ✅ Events are happening. ✅ Social media is active. ✅ Marketing automation is running. Yet sales are still asking... "Where are the opportunities?" The truth is, activity doesn't create growth. Strategy does. The organisations generating predictable pipeline focus on five things: 🎯 A clear go-to-market strategy aligned to commercial goals 🤝 Strong sales and marketing alignment 👥 A well-defined Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) 📈 Demand generation—not just lead generation 📊 Measuring pipeline, revenue and ROI instead of vanity metrics Pipeline isn't created by doing more marketing. It's built through better marketing leadership, better execution and relentless focus on commercial outcomes. 💡 Instead of asking: "Why aren't we generating enough leads?" Ask: "Is our marketing function designed to generate predictable revenue?" That single question changes everything. As a Fractional CMO, I help technology companies, SaaS businesses and growth-focused organisations transform marketing into a measurable driver of pipeline growth, revenue and business performance. Marketing shouldn't be measured by how busy it is. It should be measured by the revenue it helps create. 👉 Is your marketing generating activity… or predictable pipeline? Corinne Steer shared this🚀 Has your business outgrown its marketing? Successful businesses eventually reach a point where yesterday's marketing approach can no longer support tomorrow's growth. As a Fractional CMO, I see it time and again. Marketing teams are busy. Campaigns are launching. Content is being created. Events are well attended. Yet pipeline is inconsistent... and growth starts to slow. Often, the problem isn't marketing. It's marketing leadership. Here are a few warning signs: 📉 Pipeline has become unpredictable 🤝 Sales and marketing aren't aligned 🎯 You're competing on price instead of value 📊 Marketing can't demonstrate ROI 🌍 Your go-to-market strategy hasn't evolved ⚡ Marketing has become reactive instead of strategic 🚀 The business is growing faster than marketing can support 👥 There's no senior marketing leadership driving commercial outcomes The businesses that continue to grow don't simply do more marketing. They build marketing functions that are aligned to business strategy, focused on predictable pipeline and accountable for revenue. 💡 The question isn't whether your business has outgrown its marketing... It's whether your marketing is ready for the next stage of your business. If any of these challenges sound familiar, it may be time for a fresh perspective. 👉 I've explored all 10 signs—and what to do about them—in my latest blog. https://lnkd.in/eQMEbkXS #FractionalCMO #MarketingLeadership #PipelineGrowth #DemandGeneration #RevenueMarketing #B2BMarketing #SaaS #EnterpriseSoftware #GoToMarket #BusinessGrowth #recruitment #technology #software #EPM #CPM #MarketingStrategy

Corinne Steer shared this🚀 Many businesses don't have a marketing problem. They have a leadership problem. When growth slows, pipeline becomes unpredictable or sales and marketing drift apart, the instinctive reaction is often to: ➡️ Launch more campaigns ➡️ Buy another marketing platform ➡️ Recruit more people But these are rarely the root cause. The businesses that consistently outperform their competitors don't necessarily spend more on marketing. They have stronger marketing leadership. An experienced Fractional CMO brings strategic direction, commercial focus and hands-on execution—helping marketing become a measurable driver of pipeline and revenue, rather than simply a cost centre. Marketing should be accountable for business growth. Not just marketing activity. If your marketing is busy but not delivering the commercial outcomes you need, perhaps the question isn't... "Do we need more marketing?" It's... "Do we need stronger marketing leadership?" 👉 Read my latest blog: Why Hiring a Fractional CMO Could Be Your Best Growth Decision https://lnkd.in/enRqc-g7 #FractionalCMO #MarketingLeadership #B2BMarketing #DemandGeneration #PipelineGrowth #RevenueMarketing #SaaS #EnterpriseSoftware #EPM #CPM #BusinessGrowthWhy Hiring a Fractional CMO Could Be Your Best Growth DecisionWhy Hiring a Fractional CMO Could Be Your Best Growth Decision

When I stop to think about what sits behind this, it isn't really about me. Today, Vena entered into an agreement to acquire Morpheo AI and introduced Vena Omega™, the industry’s only cumulative context engine built for finance. Acterys already helps organizations connect operational and financial data across the Microsoft ecosystem, build governed planning models in Power BI and write decisions back into enterprise systems. Morpheo AI extends that foundation. Its technology turns fragmented enterprise data into continuously evolving context that AI can understand and act on. Through Vena Omega, that context can help power more intelligent operational applications and future agentic experiences grounded in how each business actually works. For Acterys customers, this creates a path to bring more intelligence into Power BI-native planning and decisioning without abandoning the Microsoft investments, systems and controls they already rely on. Corinne Steer liked thisCorinne Steer liked thisA new FP&A solution stands or falls on two things: the software and the partner who implements it. You can only judge both once you look under the hood. 🔧 When you select planning and BI software, many people rely on polished demos and a couple of reference visits. Both are reassuring, but neither proves much. Vendors show you their strengths, and the references they name probably have different requirements than you do. That's why at BARC we rely on the competitive PoC (proof of concept) 🔍: several vendors, the same data, the same task, under real project conditions. What that gives you: 1) You experience how a product actually feels, how intuitive it is, and whether it truly fits your FP&A processes. 2) You challenge the implementation partner and your future consultants under project conditions. The path to the result matters more than the result itself, because it shows you the effort the rollout will take as well as possible pitfalls. 3) Running several vendors in parallel builds confidence and strengthens your position in price negotiations. You don't want just any software that meets your requirements, you want the one that meets them best, and that only becomes clear in a direct comparison. 4) A single-vendor PoC takes almost the same effort but delivers far less insight. And when it only runs as a final test after the decision is made, you risk wasted time and an expensive reversal. The difference lies in the preparation. We bring clear specifications, design tasks that are demanding but doable, and a test design that targets the real sticking points. This approach has matured over hundreds of projects, and we keep sharpening it. A competitive PoC 🔍 is more than a beauty contest. It's the most honest test you'll get, and experience shows it finally gives you the confidence to decide. When it really matters, there's no way around it. Corinne Steer liked thisCorinne Steer liked thisI will be speaking at the European Microsoft Fabric + SQL Community Conference, better known as FabCon Europe 2026, in Barcelona together with Piotr Balik. Our session is titled: "SQL Injection in 2026: Live Exploitation, Modern Risks, and Practical Defenses" We will discuss why SQL Injection is still relevant, how modern applications introduce new variants of familiar risks, and what practical steps can help reduce them. We will also demonstrate Prompt Injection and discuss why AI is becoming one of the biggest security challenges for modern applications. As more systems rely on LLMs to process user input and interact with data, understanding these risks is becoming increasingly important. The session will include live demonstrations, with the focus on practical examples and real-world attack scenarios rather than theory. FabCon Europe takes place in Barcelona from 28 September to 1 October 2026. Check the details: https://lnkd.in/dFKXEgVz And yes, it is probably time to take a new photo. The current one is around ten years old, so it is starting to qualify as historical documentation. #FabConEurope #MicrosoftFabric #SQLServer #AI #CyberSecurity #SQLInjection #PromptInjection

The rules of marketing measurement are changing. Fast. In 2026, attribution alone won’t be enough to guide real marketing investment decisions. In a new article for MarTech Series, Tobin Thomas, CEO of Lifesight, explains why leading omnichannel and enterprise-ready brands are moving beyond channel-level attribution toward unified measurement models that reflect how growth actually happens. This is no longer theoretical. Sophisticated brands with complex media mixes, large budgets, and increased CFO scrutiny are actively rethinking how they measure impact. The shift is clear: • Fragmented attribution is giving way to causal measurement • CMOs need one source of truth they can defend to finance and the board • Incrementality and financial impact matter more than vanity metrics Unified models don’t just explain what happened. They reveal what truly drove growth and where to invest next with confidence. Read the full article on MarTech Series: https://lnkd.in/gb-zx7az
