The Church Commissioners for England has submitted an outline planning application for the final phase of Ely’s northern expansion in East Cambridgeshire. The Highflyer Farm North proposals cover an 85-hectare site and would deliver up to 1,607 homes, alongside employment space and green infrastructure. Morgan Sindall Group plc's housing arm Lovell Partnerships Ltd has reported a £2.46bn secured order book, as parent company revenue rose 8% to £2,562m in the first half of 2026. The Group’s adjusted operating profit increased by 21% to £111.5m, with adjusted operating margin up 50 basis points to 4.4%, in results announced this month. Places for People (PfP) is running one of its largest-ever recruitment drives, hiring 135 tradespeople to expand its in-house repairs team. Gentoo Group has completed its 115-home Cricketers Hill development in Sunderland, with all properties now occupied following a £27.7m brownfield regeneration. The first affordable homes at North Gate Park in South Tottenham are ready for residents, marking a milestone in the redevelopment of the former St Ann’s Hospital site. Peabody, The Hill Group, the deputy mayor of London for housing and residential development, Tom Copley Hon FRIBA, members of the Greater London Authority, Haringey Council and Karakusevic Carson Architects marked the milestone at an event earlier this month.
