Annette Hamilton

Annette was trained in classical anthropology and spent many years living in remote indigenous communities in Australia.  With the introduction of satellite television she refocussed her work on media and cultural transformations and subsequently  worked in media and film in Southeast Asia, especially Thailand. She has published papers on cinema in Cambodia and is currently preparing a cultural history on that subject. Her many early publications on Australian indigenous communities (1974-1990s) are mostly unavailable online. She has retired from teaching. Apart from her academic interests she is also  writing fiction and memoirs and developing her own art practice.
