The high definition video format war isn't over. It has just begun...

Toshiba conceded the HD video disc battle this week and announced its HD-DVD formatted products were no longer going to be manufactured. It had little choice after a string of defeats started by Warner choosing to go with Blu Ray exclusively and concluding when the US's biggest retailer, Wal Mart, backed out of the HD DVD format.

So Blu Ray is the winner right?

Apple outsources its server storage to Promise Technologies

Apple today discontinued its line of XServe RAID storage systems and is replacing them with Promise RAID Boxes. The new boxes can be configured with up to sixteen 750GB SATA hard drives or 16 SAS 300GB drives for up to 12 TB of storage. The former Xserve RAID was 14x750Gb.

Promise's RAID box is also certified to work with Apple's XSAN Disk Management suite.
