With AWS Snowball, you pay a service fee per data transfer job (plus applicable shipping charges). Each job includes the use of a Snowball device for 10 days of onsite usage for free*, and there is a small charge for extra onsite days. Shipping days, including the day the device is received and the day it is shipped back to AWS, are not counted toward the 10 free days. Data transferred into AWS does not incur any data transfer fees, and standard Amazon S3 pricing applies. Please see details below.

Shipping
Shipping charges are calculated based on standard carrier rates for the shipping location and shipping option (e.g. 2-day, overnight) you choose. The default shipping option is 2-day. Shipping carriers may have additional fees (such as scheduled pickup) that you pay directly to the carrier.
Amazon S3 Charges
Standard Amazon S3 storage and request pricing applies.
The pricing example below illustrates what you can expect to pay for a 30 terabyte data transfer into AWS using one 80TB Snowball device where you kept the device for a total of 15 days (received the device on day 1 and returned the device on day 15).
Service Fee per Snowball transfer job:
The service fee per transfer job on this size Snowball is $250.
Extra day charge:
The day the device is received and the day the device is shipped back to AWS are considered shipping days, and are not counted toward the 10 free days in this case. This means you had the device onsite for a total of 13 days, and 10 out of those days are free. Therefore you used 3 extra days to transfer your data.
The total extra day charge is: 3 days x $15/day = $45
Data Transfer:
In this example, you transferred data IN to AWS, so the data transfer cost is $0.
Shipping:
Shipping charges are calculated based on standard carrier rates and the shipping location and priority you choose.
* Each job includes 10 free days of onsite usage of a Snowball device. Shipping days, including the day the device is received and the day it is shipped back to AWS, are not counted toward the 10 free days.
