You’re forgiven if all you notice about the leather-bound HP Spectre Folio tablet is its luxurious exterior. But beneath HP’s Spectre stamp also hides the product of a rare collaboration between Intel’s top engineers and select customers, which helped extend the Folio’s battery life to a whopping 18 hours.

According to Intel, the Spectre Folio is officially the lead platform for Intel’s Amber Lake, the low-power Y-series processor that represents the latest branch of 8th-gen Intel Core processors. But it’s also a product of the Innovation Excellence Program, where Intel’s top engineers devote themselves to one or two key customer products per year.

To read this article in full, please click here

The HP Spectre Folio is a sensual experience. By wrapping an incredibly thin laptop in a full-grain leather shell, HP has made a PC whose look, feel, and smell will evoke classic, covetable objects like a bomber jacket, a handbag, or a leather football or baseball. You’ll find yourself responding to the Spectre Folio in the same way—and then fighting it, as if it were wrong to react like that to a PC, even if it’s also one of the first super-efficient Amber Lake laptops we’ve seen.

I had the same struggle during my sneak peek at the Spectre Folio ahead of its announcement Monday morning in New York City. I couldn’t take my hands off of it, and it felt great on my lap, too. Yet it felt like HP broke some rule. Keep reading, though, and you’ll see that the Spectre Folio is a really interesting PC, as well as a potentially covetable object. (Read about the crack team of HP and Intel engineers who designed it.) It’s available for pre-order starting October 1 at Best Buy and HP, with a starting price of $1,300. See below for full details on prices, specs, and features.

To read this article in full, please click here

We're still a couple of days away from the official unveiling of the V40, but LG is too excited to keep it secret for that long. Last week it divulged that its new phone will have five cameras, a sand-blasted back, and a notched screen. On Monday it showed off a little about what those cameras can do.

The V40 introduces a new feature called Cine Shot. Unlike Cine Movie, which applies color grading to your movies to set a tone, Cine Shot will turn your photos into mini movies called cinemagraphs. It's not a new concept--we've seen numerous third-party apps replicate the effect--but it's rare to see it built into a phone's camera app. I got to play with it ahead of the V40's official unveiling, and it's definitely a fun feature. Here's how it works:

To read this article in full, please click here

Many companies boast about going entirely digital, but continue to work with mountains of documents. Don't be that company.

The bulk of said documents are normally those that require signatures, like contracts, tax forms, reimbursement sheets, and — well, the list is seemingly endless, which also means that the work allocated to creating and organizing them also never stops. A simple solution? Electronic signatures or eSignatures.

Having the same legal weight as handwritten signatures, eSignatures could revolutionize the way you do business, and could potentially pave the way for more profit and innovation. And try as we may, we’re not always paying close enough attention to how long our little one have been glued to their small screens. No matter which platform you use, you’ll find a handy way to remotely control the device your kid is using, even if it’s an iPhone.
I really miss my Xbox 360 controller sometimes. These days I've almost entirely transitioned to an Xbox One controller, but the 360 just felt right, you know? Actually, scratch that—I know you know, or at least 27.2 million of you know.

Those stats, plus a free weekend for The Crew 2, Ace Attorney comes to PC at last, Fallout 76 shows off its opening cinematic, Hitman 2 debuts its second mission, and an update on the Telltale disaster.

This is gaming news for September 24 to 28.

Crew up

Let's ease into this week's round-up with our usual "What's free this weekend?" section. This week? It's Ubisoft trying to undercut Forza Horizon 4 hype by making The Crew 2 free for the weekend. Will it work? Uh...well, probably not. Forza is a much better game. But if you want a virtual vacation this weekend, grab The Crew 2 through Uplay and give it a spin.

To read this article in full, please click here

While older watches will enjoy some interface improvements, Google's update isn't about fixing your current device. It's about making the next crop of wearables way better. Android Wear and Wear OS smartwatches won't see much of a speed or battery life boost with the update, for instance. But next year's models, which will also utilize the new Qualcomm Wear 3100 chip, absolutely will.

To read this article in full, please click here

As promised at I/O back in May, Google is finally rolling out group planning, giving users an easy way to create a list that can be shared, modified, and voted on without needing to deal with a constant stream of beeps and buzzes via group texts.
