Plugin not updated for over a year?

    Can anyone explain to me why a plugin would not need to be updated for over a year with all the changes/updates in WordPress and with various theme updates and increased hacking on WP?

    It seems like it would at least be a professional Best Practice to do a basic update for the plugin once a year. Plus, if a developer wants more exposure to more potential users, wouldn’t their odds of doing so be greater if their plugin didn’t have, “Last Updated: 1 year ago”, in their description when the majority of their competitors appear to be more current?

    I can’t help but wonder why…

    Hi Vink:

    I fully understand your concern, but after the plugin grew to it’s current size (after 9 years of being free) we have decided to focus on PRO which is live at https://www.seoultimateplus.com and will be pulling the FREE version after the next update.

    Keep in mind that with hundreds of thousands of lines of code, this is not a simple plugin that does one thing, but rather has evolved into dozens of modules that we have invested several hundred thousand dollars in dev to build and maintain the plugin…

    Originally this was a tool for our agency and we shared it back in 2008 (and have never taken a donation) and funded it ourselves… At this point, to offset the sheer amount of TLC this plugin needs (as well as the fact that with so many moving parts) it’s best served as a premium one-stop offering with advanced SEO training, we are moving to the PRO and membership model for genuine advanced SEO training to accompany it.

    Hope this helps shed some light… Would love to hear your thoughts and also we’d love to see you upgrade to PRO to unleash all the new features we’ve added.
