All true, but folks listen …
Imagine you are a new user and you have a first series of “recurring” events but not with regular intervals.
You click on “add recurrent event” and you get lost or put wrong dates. That happens a lot here because once you are there you cannot enter the right dates. As simple as that.
And most series of events have irregular intervals. It’s not an exception. As long as this is not available in the plugin, we will have to circumvent with all mentioned “solutions”. :-/
Thanks @enkoes but while I thought this was only possible for admins, it turns out we see a + sign on the front-end indeed, so users can copy and edit it that way. But …
Still I think it would be way more user-friendly if it was in the normal place where users enter event dates. Users getting to the system for the first time won’t discover this.
ThisΒ https://kb.mainwp.com/docs/fix-the-disconnection-issue-after-upgrading-to-4-5/ seems to work for me. I hope it stays. π€π»
So I found it.
Go to Preferences > Formatting. Advanced mode should be “on”.
Events > Single event page
Edit the code. Example add:To the eventForum: Plugins

In reply to: [Slideshow SE] When are you putting this up again?Ok John, thanks for keeping us current here.
Thumbs up for a smooth fix.Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response.
β’ I use the latest version
β’ Could not find any information from logI think there was something wrong with the creation of the Custom Post Types with PODS.
But then I couldn’t find how to map my CSV to the table in WP Data Access, since PODS stores custom fields as meta. I am trying to see if I can change that to table storage in order to get separate tables for the mapping.
POD’s docs aren’t very clear in this regard.
If you happen to be able to help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks,

In reply to: [WC Captcha] Conflict with SearchSame here folks.
I had to disable it in order to get search work again. :-/Thanks.
It happens with all plugins.
I rarely synced indeed.
So I will try this and see what happens after a while.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [SpeakOut! Email Petitions] Some settings not savedHi,
Thanks for checking.
That is strange indeed. Works very well now on your site and not on mine.
First I will do some more testing here then.
I’ll come back later to report and consider further steps.

In reply to: [SpeakOut! Email Petitions] Some settings not savedNow, with 2.14.12 I get this:
The required dropdown has a red border, which is good and means it is required.
But … when I fill in the form and do NOT choose an item from the dropdown, the form still goes through. The difference is that now in the result there is no >nameofthedropdown so that part is ok, but still, ‘required’ does not work. It should throw an error and not send the form in the first place.Stubborn bug it seems. :-/

In reply to: [SpeakOut! Email Petitions] Some settings not savedHi, we’re on 4.14.11 which is the latest version, right?
So you did not fix that latest
>problem yet in that version. Or at least not uploaded a new version as far as I can see.
And indeed the bug is still there.
Required dropdown just goes through anyway, without selecting any dropdown item. Thanks for following up.

In reply to: [SpeakOut! Email Petitions] Some settings not savedAny progress on this?
We’ve put a project on hold because of this bug.
Thanks.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [SpeakOut! Email Petitions] Some settings not savedHi, Thanks also for working on this, but sorry to say, I still got the same “Required”-dropdown-problem not working in the form.
To be sure, I created a new petition with a required dropdown.
When we do not choose that dropdown item on front, the form still gets passed, without that data input. It should throw an error.
What we see then as the result on display is: >nameofthedropdown
So the Required option is not doing its job.(Also afterwards when going back into Edit Email Petition, one is forced to fill in Target Email and Email Subject, although this is useless, since we “β Do not send email”. But that is not a real problem and might be kept for later. π
