Porsha shared an Instagram Story originally posted by Patrice earlier this week, a response to whispers going about on the internet. “I am not engaged,” Sway stated with a laughing emoji regarding an AI photo of the happy couple and a huge diamond ring on Porsha’s finger. “Like, really, does that pic look like me? SMH, it’s clearly A.I. Lawd! Don’t believe everything you see people.”
Engagement rumors aside, the two are still going strong. In fact, after squashing the engagement speculation, Porsha invited followers to “tap in” to one of the motivational speaker’s salon suite workshops before Patrice takes a months-long break.
As it turns out, after that, Porsha did say "yes" when Sway asked her to be her Valentine this year. Porsha shared the sweet moment, complete with roses and heart balloons. "Awe yes I'll be your Valentine," she added."
What we know about Porsha Williams and Patrice “Sway” McKinney’s relationship
The pair actually met eight-plus years ago and slipped into one another’s DMs on Instagram, as Porsha explained in a December 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I had seen her page and liked a couple of things, you know, give a like here and that,” Porsha said.

Years later, Porsha started following another Instagram account, unaware that it belonged to Patrice. After enjoying a few drinks with Porsha’s sister, Lauren Williams, the pair hit it off and went Instagram official late last year.
“Thanksgiving came around, she was like, ‘Yeah, I’m gonna cater,’ and I was like, ‘You know, me, too,’” Porsha told Entertainment Tonight. “We were coming back from Miami, and I was like, ‘Let’s just do it together!’ So we did. We got our families together. We had a bomb Thanksgiving. When I tell you, we had a ball — we were karaoke-ing, playing games, eating good food. It just all felt good.”

Porsha finalized her divorce from Simon Guobadia in June 2025, after about two and a half years of marriage. Before that, the RHOA cast member was married to NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart from 2011 to 2013, then became engaged to Dennis McKinley in 2018. During their year-long engagement, they welcomed Porsha’s only child, Pilar Jhena "PJ" McKinley.

Porsha Williams and Patrice “Sway” McKinney’s relationship is “such a blessing”
Over the holidays, Porsha called Patrice “such a blessing” after the businesswomen headed to local supermarkets to pay for shoppers’ groceries. Sway, at the time, called it “the McKinney takeover,” part of the entrepreneur’s “Patrice McKinney Foundation.”
Porsha wrote in the comments section, “It really touches our heart seeing you give to random strangers for Christmas. You have such a big heart, and I truly believe you’ll be blessed for paying it forward.”
Later on, the couple shared a cozy, at-home meal after The Pursuit of Porsha author made her first pot roast. “Dinner for bae,” she wrote in the caption of a reel showing Porsha cooking the dish. “After a long day.”
