Designed from the ground up, these 25-DoF hands combine 25 fully actuated degrees of freedom with a tendon-driven system, rich tactile sensing, and built-in compliance. We’re excited to welcome Bill Nash as our new Chief Financial Officer at 1X. Bill brings extensive financial leadership experience from high-growth, technology-driven companies at the forefront of autonomy, aerospace, and life sciences. Most recently, he served as CFO of Ursa Major, supporting the development of advanced solid rocket motors and propulsion systems for defense and space applications. Prior to that, he was CFO at Cruise, where he led significant capital raises, strategic partnerships, and large-scale operational expansion in the autonomous vehicle industry. With an MBA from Wharton, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy, Bill combines strong strategic finance expertise with a technical foundation that’s highly relevant to our work. We’re confident Bill will be instrumental as we scale manufacturing, strengthen our operations, and bring NEO– and the next generation of humanoid robots– to customers worldwide. We’re excited to welcome Tom Sanocki as our new VP of Engineering at 1X. Tom brings world-class experience building and scaling real-time systems that have reached millions of users. He was the first Engineering Director for Avatars at Roblox, led four engineering teams on Meta’s Horizon Worlds, founded a VR interactive character platform acquired by Lytro, and contributed to Bungie’s Destiny 1 and iconic Pixar films including Finding Nemo, Cars, Brave, and Up. His deep expertise in graphics, avatars, UGC platforms, and large-scale consumer software will be instrumental as we extend NEO’s capabilities and bring the next generation of humanoid intelligence into everyday homes. His leadership will also play a key role in bringing 1X’s developer platform to life, empowering developers to create a vibrant ecosystem of innovative applications for humanoid robots. The lab is founded on a simple thesis: robotics is not a fine-tuning problem. To build truly general humanoids, we need to pretrain on the most important data from the very beginning. Joining 1X as Founding AI Researcher and Head of World Models is Samrath Sinha, previously a founding research scientist at Luma AI and a leader in scaling multimodal generative video models. Building Your NEO | Manufactured in Hayward, CA America’s most vertically integrated humanoid robot factory has now begun full-scale production, with the capacity to build 10,000 NEOs this year. Spanning 58,000 square feet and employing over 200 team members, 1X manufacturing designs and manufactures NEO’s critical components in-house— including motors, batteries, structures, transmission systems, soft goods, sensors and more. With the latest versions of NEO coming off the line and consumer shipments planned for 2026, this is the critical milestone that turns the vision of abundant, general-purpose home robots into reality.

NEO is starting to learn on its own. The 1X World Model’s latest update is a paradigm shift in robot learning: NEO now uses a physics-grounded video model (World Model) to turn any voice or text prompt into fully autonomous action, even for completely novel tasks and objects NEO has never seen before. By leveraging internet-scale, video data fine-tuned on real robot experience, NEO can visualize future actions, predict outcomes, and execute them with human-like understanding– all without prior examples.
