We were recently questioned at #Aeluma as to why we have “so many” UCSB alumni. The Photonic Scale-Up workshop at #OFC on Sunday was kicked off by Janet Chen, Director of Silicon Photonics Development at NVIDIA. Janet is a UCSB alum. The Monday Optica Executive Forum had many excellent speakers, including Matthew Sysak, CTO at Lumentum, Radha Nagarajan, SVP & CTO Optical Engineering at Marvell, and Near Margalit, VP / GM Optical Systems at Broadcom. All three are UCSB alumni. Today, Alexis Bjorlin, SVP AI Infrastructure at NVIDIA will deliver one of the #OFC plenary presentations. She also recently addressed the United Nations. Alexis is a UCSB alum. Walk around the LA Convention Center this week at #OFC and you will likely bump into a UCSB alum along the way.
