As AI takes on more of the enterprise, the most successful organizations are rethinking where human judgment adds the most value. In a new Forbes article, Nitin Murali, VP of Supply Chain Excellence at GALLO and an Aera Technology customer, argues that where AI adoption truly sticks, companies treat the design of human judgment as a discipline of its own. That discipline tends to take shape around three roles, even though almost no one sets out to hire for them. • Signal Architect: Turns raw data into trustworthy, context-rich signals so machines can act on what humans have always known intuitively. • Judgment Engineer: Designs where humans show up in an AI-augmented workflow, drawing boundaries around value, not functions. • Decision Owner: A named human accountable for every consequential decision. When a name is on a decision, the decision gets better. At Aera Technology, we've long held that decision intelligence would create entirely new roles for designing, governing, and owning AI-driven decisions. Nitin's piece puts that prediction into sharp, real-world focus. Read the full Forbes article: https://lnkd.in/gzeMC49d #DecisionIntelligence #SupplyChainInnovation #AgenticAI

One of our customers recently went live with 3 decision intelligence skills in 3 months. The program paid for itself within the next 3, with $2.7M in value in 11 weeks. Later: $50M in projected supply chain savings and $100M in inventory reduction. Last week I had the pleasure of co-hosting a webinar on this in "From Decision Intelligence Concept to Actionable Roadmap" with Kevin Overdulve and Jeroen Nysen from Deloitte ... episode 1 of a 3-part Future. Now series. We unpacked a lot. Full re-cap and recording here: https://lnkd.in/e9-xnCxF I might have nerded out a bit much in the live demo (oops 😉 - just having too much fun !) where I stepped into the role of Head of Materials Planning at a European Manufacturer, diagnosing a potential shortage of a material at a site and tracing it through a causal chain - ruling out the supplier, the network, and the site before landing on the real cause, a shipping disruption reshaping a supplier's allocation decisions. It took 10 minutes to go from hunch to a rebuttal-proof business case and skill design on the actual data, with a clear, confident read on whether the data quality was good enough to stand up the skill. A few more minutes and I had a fully quantified roadmap of inter-connected skills in that domain area to address the pressing issues presenting in the actual data itself. Hunch -> interrogation / identification -> cause -> cost / value quantification -> skill design ... and then the next step: the skill gets built. All in one flow. Bravo Aera Technology R&D and product teams. Genius. 👏 👏 👏 #DecisionIntelligence

The world's aircraft fleet is aging faster than manufacturers can replace it. That gap is also a sign of how much opportunity is sitting in today's production backlog. How do manufacturers keep procurement, production, and logistics decisions aligned as tariffs shift and supplier risk moves day to day? In our latest article, we explore how leading aircraft manufacturers are adopting continuous, data-driven decision-making. By acting on supply and cost signals as they happen, they're protecting margins, closing gaps between engine and airframe schedules, and keeping production moving. The article also introduces our new whitepaper, which takes a deeper look at what it takes to operationalize this shift at scale. Should every enterprise decision route through an LLM, or should the model be reserved for the judgment calls that actually need it? Frederic Laluyaux joined Rebecca Wettemann on The Crunch with a clear answer carrying real consequences for enterprise token spend. His take: roughly 80% of enterprise decision logic can run on deterministic rules, at close to zero token cost. The other 20% is where an LLM actually earns its keep. Blur that line, and you end up like one client Fred's seen again and again: 6,000 planners, a decade of "better" tools, and the same bottleneck still sitting there. His five-year prediction might be the most provocative part of the conversation. ➡️ Full episode in the comments. #DecisionIntelligence #EnterpriseAI #AgenticAI

What if your supply chain could sense change and act before it became a disruption? That's exactly what The Hershey Company is doing with decision intelligence. Using Aera, Hershey shifted to proactive decision-making across planning, inventory, and logistics, continuously sensing risk and acting on it before it escalates. The results speak for themselves: • 200,000 cases of waste prevented in the first 90 days • $10 million in annualized savings • Reductions in excess inventory, costs, and carbon emissions As Douglas Guilherme, Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain at The Hershey Company, put it: instead of asking what happened and how to fix it, teams are now asking what's about to happen and how to get ahead of it. That's the shift decision intelligence makes possible. The best outcomes come when expert educators and intelligent systems work as a team. In a recent episode of the Decision Intelligence podcast, Aera Technology CEO Frederic Laluyaux spoke with Jennie Sanders, VP of Product and Technology at Western Governors University, about what happens when human judgment and machine intelligence build on each other over time. In this clip, Jennie describes a fascinating progression. AI generates personalized outreach for students, but instructors stay in the loop because they know things the system doesn't. Early on, the recommendations taken as-is outperformed the ones instructors modified. Over time that flipped: as instructors learned from the system and layered on their own judgment, their modified recommendations began to win. The machine outperformed the human at first, and then human plus machine outperformed the machine alone. Highlights from the conversation include: • Human judgment stays central: Instructors know their students in ways no system can, so they remain in the loop. • Learning goes both ways: Educators learn from the system, then add expertise the model can't capture. • Better together: Human plus machine ultimately outperforms either one working alone. 🎧 Hear Jennie's take on the real power of human-machine collaboration.
