  • When our Applications Engineers are balancing performance requirements with limited panel space, they know the Siemens MICRO-DRIVE can help them achieve both.   Designed for the safety extra-low voltage range of 24 V to 48 V DC, Siemens MICRO-DRIVE brings motion control capabilities to applications where space, efficiency, and simplicity matter.   What we love is that the compact design helps machine builders add precise motion control without oversized components or complex architectures. And because it integrates seamlessly into the Siemens TIA Portal environment, engineering, commissioning, and diagnostics can all be handled using the same familiar tools.   The result? A motion solution that helps simplify machine design while still delivering control performance.   As a Siemens Authorized Sales, Service, and Support Partner, AWC can help you determine if the MICRO-DRIVE is the right fit for your application. • Not every flow control problem is solved by choosing a bigger actuator or retuning the control loop.   Sometimes the answer is to choose the right valve.   A conventional eccentric plug valve typically provides its control range over only part of its rotation. The Valmet Neles™ Finetrol™ balanced plug valve uses a patented plug design that extends the effective control range to a full 90° while reducing the effects of flow forces on the stem. The result is smoother, more stable control, especially at lower openings where many valves struggle. And with a design rated for SIL 3 applications, it delivers the reliability needed for critical process control.   Our Valve Specialists love it because they can achieve: 🔴 More accurate flow control 🔴 Improved process stability 🔴 Less wear on valve components 🔴 Longer service life with reduced maintenance   Want to see how the balanced plug design works? The Valmet blog does an excellent job breaking it down: Achieving Better Accuracy in Flow Control with a Unique Plug Shape (https://hubs.ly/Q04qkzjp0)   If you're evaluating control valve performance or troubleshooting difficult applications, reach out to an AWC Valve Specialist. • Meeting emissions requirements is challenging enough without giving up process control.   As companies work to reduce their carbon footprint and comply with increasingly stringent EPA emissions requirements, combustion equipment needs to do more than simply burn fuel. It needs to do it efficiently, cleanly, and consistently.   The Honeywell Technologies Process Automation & Technology Maxon OVENPAK® LE burner is designed for industrial ovens, kilns, and other direct-fired heating applications where both clean combustion and precise control are critical. Its nozzle-mixing design delivers low NOx and CO emissions while maintaining a highly stable flame and a wide turndown range to keep your process running smoothly as demand changes.   Additional advantages include: ✔ Low NOx and CO emissions ✔ High turndown for exceptional process control ✔ Burns a variety of clean fuel gases ✔ Operates on low gas supply pressures ✔ Compact design for easier installation ✔ Visible ignition for faster commissioning and easier maintenance   If you're looking for ways to reduce emissions without compromising process performance, our combustion specialists can help you evaluate whether the Honeywell Maxon OVENPAK® LE is the right solution for your application.   #Honeywell #Maxon #IndustrialBurners #Combustion #ThermalSolutions #ProcessHeating #IndustrialOvens #EnergyEfficiency #EPACompliance

  • "Can we add these I/O points without building a larger enclosure?" That's a question our Applications Engineers were recently asked while helping a customer modify an existing control panel. The enclosure footprint couldn't change, but the panel still needed additional components. Instead of redesigning the panel or moving to a larger enclosure, our team selected Phoenix Contact USA PLC interface relays to maximize the available DIN rail space.   Their compact footprint delivers impressive switching capability while freeing up valuable room for other components. The relays are also designed to make panel assembly more efficient, with screw or spring terminal options, plug-in bridges for commoning terminals, and streamlined system cabling using V8 adapters. Just as importantly, they simplify maintenance long after the panel leaves the shop. If a relay ever needs to be replaced, the plug-in relay module can be swapped without disconnecting field wiring or removing the base from the DIN rail—reducing repair time and helping prevent wiring errors. Sometimes solving a customer's challenge isn't about finding more space. It's about making better use of the space you already have. If you're facing panel space constraints or planning a control system modification, AWC's Automation Specialists can help identify practical solutions that fit your application.   #PhoenixContact #IndustrialAutomation #ControlPanel #PanelBuilding #DINRail #PLCs #ControlSystems #ElectricalEngineering #Automation

  • You can have every transmitter and alarm in the world, but ASME boiler code still requires one thing: a direct visual indication of liquid level in your boiler.   That's why sight glasses remain such a critical part of boiler operation.   The challenge? Steam is tough on glass. Over time, erosion can reduce visibility and, if left too long, increase the risk of steam leaks.   The sight glass shown here is a great example of what we're talking about. The glass has become so eroded by steam that it no longer provides a clear visual indication of the water level, making it time to repair or replace the gauge.   One of the questions our Instrument Repair Technicians hear most is: "How do I know when it's time to repair my sight glass?"   Unfortunately, there isn't a simple answer. It depends on factors like operating temperature, thermal cycling, and the construction of the gauge. But one thing is certain, when you can no longer clearly see the level, it's time to take action.   The good news is that repairing a functioning sight glass before it reaches the point of failure is almost always more cost-effective than replacing it.   AWC's local, factory-trained and factory-certified Instrument Repair Technicians can help you take the guesswork out of maintenance. We offer complimentary site surveys to evaluate your sight glasses, verify they still meet code requirements, and help you build a proactive repair plan before small issues become expensive ones.   Reach out to AWC to schedule your free site survey and keep your boiler level indication clear, compliant, and reliable.   #BoilerMaintenance #SightGlass #IndustrialMaintenance #PlantReliability #BoilerSafety #PredictiveMaintenance #Instrumentation #SteamSystems #LevelMeasurement

  • One of the biggest challenges in maintaining smart instrumentation isn't the instruments themselves. It's managing the growing collection of communication tools required to support them. Different manufacturers often require different handheld communicators or software packages, leaving technicians switching between devices and applications just to configure or troubleshoot HART instruments.   Honeywell Technologies Process Automation & Technology's Bluetooth Modem changes that. It connects your Windows laptop or Android tablet to HART-enabled, 2-wire smart instruments, allowing you to use a device you already have instead of carrying another proprietary communicator. It also supports Honeywell's Digital Enhanced (DE) protocol, giving you one tool for both HART and Honeywell DE devices. The result is a simpler, more standardized approach to field configuration and maintenance, reducing the number of tools technicians need while improving flexibility across a wide range of smart instruments. If you're looking for ways to simplify instrument configuration and maintenance, reach out to AWC's Instrumentation Specialists. We'd be happy to show you how Honeywell Versatilis can streamline your operations.   #Honeywell #HART #DigitalEnhanced #Instrumentation #ProcessAutomation #IndustrialAutomation #Maintenance #Reliability #FieldInstrumentation #AutomationSolutions
