Had a great time at our first Bits in Bio Copenhagen Bio Hackathon yesterday. We have been thinking about running a hackathon for a while, and, boy, I am happy we finally did it and how the teams delivered - just a few things people worked on: 1) a bespoke research project planner that delivers project plans in exactly the format your team needs, 2) a tailored drug target dashboard that prioritizes targets in exactly the way you and your team wants to: novelty in the literature, patent coverage, gene essentiality, you name it, 3) and finally, the winners 🥇, made a tool to finally triage papers shared in every research team's #papers Slack/Teams/Discord channel that everybody feals guilty about not reading. The key idea here was that what matters REALLY depends on individual taste, preferences, time available, best way of learning, and more. Keep in mind that this was done in ~1.5h of actual coding. What makes me even more happy is that _every_single_team_ used the Amass API despite that being completely optional - thanks for amazing feedback along the way 🥹 😘 Stepping back, the time to build 100% tailored software for research teams at the intersection of bio and bits is here NOW. What is hard is getting the right data in there and, of course, all the "boring" but super important stuff around security, access management, data governance, etc. etc. ‼️ Hit me up if you want to talk about how we are approaching this at Amass and how we help our customers here.
