As AI models grow exponentially, so does the demand for robust, scalable infrastructure. Hear from Broadcom VP Hasan Siraj on why distributed computing is the critical key to unlocking the next level of AI training at scale.
I recently had the privilege of taking the stage at the #OCPEMEA Summit in Barcelona to discuss a topic central to the future of our industry: Distributed Computing at Scale for AI Training & Inference. As AI workloads continue to grow in unprecedented complexity, they are pushing the absolute limits of compute density and interconnect scale. To meet these demands, we need a next-generation networking fabric capable of executing on three critical scaling vectors: - Scaling UP within and across racks to tightly couple XPUs for high-throughput training and low-latency inference. - Scaling OUT across entire data centers utilizing flat, high-performance topologies to support large-scale AI workloads. - Scaling ACROSS geographically distributed data centers, enabling unified AI fabrics that support million-plus-XPU environments. During the keynote, we explored how the latest Ethernet advancements are democratizing these large-scale deployments, driven by vital Open Compute Project (OCP) initiatives like Ethernet Scale-Up Networking (ESUN), Scale-Up Ethernet Transport (SUE-T), and Open Cluster Design for AI. If you missed the session or want to dive deeper into how Broadcom is building the networking fabric for the AI era, you can watch the full keynote here: https://lnkd.in/gXS6s4HY A huge thank you to the Open Compute Project Foundation for a fantastic event. Let's continue pushing the boundaries of open networking together.

"Networking is inheriting the tempo of AI compute. In fact, networking has to be ready and ahead of compute—even six months ahead, we are hearing from some of our customers. This is a major structural industry shift... You do not want networking to slow compute down." 🎙️ Dr. Mohan Kalkunte discusses why networking must evolve at the speed of AI infrastructure and how Broadcom is staying ahead of the curve.
