Small nonprofits do not need another 30-page strategic plan right now. They need: 🌱 a donor retention plan 🌱 a realistic sponsorship strategy 🌱 someone to tell them what to stop doing 🌱 Board members who actually engage 😅 breathing room Most organizations aren’t failing because they lack passion or commitment. They’re failing because every system around them was built for organizations with more staff, more time, and more money. That gap is where capacity work matters. The future of this sector likely belongs to organizations that learn how to operate leaner, collaborate better, and communicate more honestly. We’re thinking about that a lot lately. #nonprofit #nonprofitconsulting

At Calloway Stern Group, education is one of our core values. We believe deeply in investing in the next generation of nonprofit professionals, and working with interns is something we genuinely consider an honor. This summer, CSG is hiring a paid intern to support marketing, communications, and administrative projects across our nonprofit and community-based work. We’re looking for someone curious, organized, creative, and interested in mission-driven work, ideally a student studying nonprofit management, comms/marketing, public administration, or socially responsible business. Charleston-area preferred, with some virtual flexibility for the right fit. 📩 Know someone who’d be a great addition to the CSG ecosystem? Please send them our way. DM us or email Info@callowaysterngroup.com.

One of the things we’ve always loved most about Calloway Stern Group is that it creates space for nonprofit professionals to grow. Not just organizations. People. If you’re a nonprofit administrator looking to deepen your experience, sharpen your skills, or create an additional income stream alongside your current role… send us a message. We’re always interested in connecting with people who care deeply about this sector and we value the work we do in it!

As Calloway Stern Group continues to grow, we’ve been talking a lot about returning to our roots. Not building a traditional consulting firm. Building an ecosystem. Some of the best nonprofit work happens through collaboration: project-based support, shared expertise, trusted relationships, and talented people contributing in ways that fit their lives and strengths. Over the years, we’ve worked alongside incredible nonprofit professionals, writers, designers, strategists, grant managers, database folks, communicators, and operational problem-solvers. There’s something powerful about building work this way thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with room for people to contribute meaningfully without having to fit inside a traditional structure.

Charleston nonprofits, this is a strong grant opportunity. SCACED just released an ARPA-funded Technical Assistance Grant that supports practical capacity-building work for nonprofits serving Charleston County residents. The program specifically funds consultant-led deliverables like strategic planning, fundraising infrastructure, communications, governance, financial systems, and operational support. Awards up to $10k. At Calloway Stern Group, this is exactly the kind of focused, capacity-building work we love most. If you’ve been putting off a project because there “isn’t room in the budget,” this may be worth exploring. #CharlestonNonprofit #NonprofitConsulting https://lnkd.in/eAErzEBp

I know many of us are feeling our household budgets stretched tight this holiday season~ This is a creative way to give *desperately needed* support with zero impact on your wallet! #womensphilanthropy #informalgiving
As we head into the final weeks of 2025, many people are realizing they still have unused FSA dollars that will expire soon. If that’s you, here’s a simple way to give back. FSA funds can be used to purchase essential health items like feminine hygiene and period care products. These are some of the most needed and least donated items at women’s shelters, yet they’re basic necessities tied to dignity and health. If you have #FSA funds remaining, consider using them to purchase these items and donating them to a local women’s or family shelter. Many organizations gladly accept unopened products and often share wish lists. It’s a small way to turn a “use it or lose it” benefit into real impact. #GiveBack #DignityMatters #WomensHealth #Healthcare #CommunityImpact #PeriodEquity #YearEndPlanning

Growth gets all the attention. Sustainability? That’s where the real work happens. At Calloway Stern Group, we spend our days helping nonprofits strengthen the systems that make impact possible: people, boards, budgets, boundaries. The Good Business Summit hosted by Lowcountry Local First brings that same energy to Charleston’s small-business community. We’re sponsoring this event because “good business” isn’t a sector, it’s a mindset. #GoodBusinessSummit #LowcountryLocalFirst #SustainableGrowth #LeadershipWithPurpose

This is the guy you want advising your fundraising plan. At CSG, we believe the best advisors are the ones doing the work themselves. Case in point: Daniel Stern, Executive Director of Entryway SC and CSG Partner, accepting a record-setting $44,803.27 check from the Charleston Apartment Association’s October Golf Tournament. When we say our team understands fundraising from every angle, we mean it. How many nonprofit consultants can say they secured a transformational gift THIS year? Daniel can, and he brings that lived experience to every CSG engagement. #NonprofitConsulting #NonprofitLeadership #WeDoThingsDifferently

Small nonprofits and small businesses have more in common than most people realize. Both are fueled by vision, grit, and an unwavering commitment to the community they serve. At CSG, we work at that intersection, helping nonprofits build structure and sustainability so they can grow with the same strategic confidence as any thriving business. That’s why we’re thrilled to sponsor this year’s Good Business Summit hosted by Lowcountry Local First. It’s where purpose-driven leaders come together to shape the future of our local economy. #LowcountryLocalFirst #BusinessAsAForceForGood #CharlestonLeaders #NonprofitStrategy
