About us
Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity Mission: Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity partners with people in our community to build or improve a place they can call home. Cape Fear Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity was established in 1987 and has served more than 175 hard-working families through the construction and rehabilitation of homes throughout New Hanover and Pender counties.

The Boards of Directors of Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity and Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity have voted to move forward with a due diligence process to explore a potential merger between the two affiliates. It is important to note that no merger has been approved, and no final decision has been made. The purpose of due diligence is to provide both organizations with the information needed to determine whether moving forward would be in the best interest of their missions, the families they serve, and their long-term sustainability. Both organizations will continue normal operations throughout the due diligence process, including home construction, homeownership programs, volunteer engagement, fundraising activities, and ReStore operations. We will share more information as the process moves along.

Cape Fear Habitat is proud to be the recipient of a $950,000 grant from The Endowment for the purchase of land for our upcoming Mixed-Income Development! The Endowment played a significant role in the development of Haven Place, our current 35-home community, in 2024. With this next investment, we are excited to expand our reach across the area, providing affordable housing to more families in innovative ways. We're thankful for The Endowment's commitment to safe and affordable housing now, and for generations to come🏡 #capefearhabitat #habitatforhumanity #theendowment #affordablehousing #homeownership
