Since joining Casella in 2012, Shaunna Parker has built a career focused on connecting people with opportunity. After starting in Accounts Receivable and gaining insight into operations across the company, she found her calling in Human Resources and now serves as Senior Talent Acquisition Manager. Turning Insight Into Impact ♻️ When it comes to achieving sustainability goals, education and collaboration can be just as important as infrastructure. Through its collaboration with Casella, UMass Chan Medical School is gaining valuable insights into the recycling process, using data, hands-on learning, and facility tours to help improve waste diversion efforts across campus. By seeing firsthand what happens to materials after they leave a recycling bin, students, faculty, and sustainability leaders are building confidence in the system and finding new opportunities to reduce waste, increase recycling, and create lasting environmental impact. "It has been fantastic being able to bring members of our campus to the recycling facility and learn more about how everything is sorted. There is an entire team at Casella who works very hard to make sure everything gets recycled properly," said UMass Chan Sustainability and Energy Manager Kortni Wroten MBA, MS. "It makes such a huge difference in folks' perspective on waste."

Mastering the Machine: Eric Patch on PFAS, Precision, and Purpose 💪 Environmental Technician Eric Patch has become the steady hand behind one of Casella’s first landfill-based PFAS treatment systems, earning the nickname “the foam whisperer” for his deep understanding of the technology. His journey, from third-shift truck mechanic to mastering a complex, first-of-its-kind environmental system, reflects more than a decade of hands-on learning and dedication. Today, Eric’s commitment to doing the job safely, precisely, and with pride plays a vital role in protecting the environment and strengthening Casella’s leadership in PFAS mitigation. For him, the work is challenging, meaningful, and exactly where he wants to be.

Welcome to our future sustainability leaders! 🌎♻️ We're excited to introduce the 2026 Casella Sustainability Interns as they begin a summer of learning, collaboration, and hands-on experience across our operations. Over the next ten weeks, they'll work alongside teams throughout the company, take part in field assignments, and contribute to impactful projects while gaining valuable insight into how sustainability is woven into everything we do.

When Lindsey Menard joined Casella in 2020, she stepped into the world of environmental compliance with curiosity, determination, and a desire to make a tangible impact. She now serves as an environmental compliance manager supporting facilities across Vermont and New Hampshire, helping teams navigate regulations, respond to challenges, and keep operations running safely and responsibly. Her work on the Permits, Compliance & Engineering (PC&E) team places her at the intersection of environmental stewardship and day‑to‑day operations, where no two days are the same.
