School facility needs are growing faster than school budgets can keep up. The 2025 State of Our Schools report puts the national school facilities funding gap at $90 billion a year, and it's still widening, even as districts spend more than ever on their buildings. For most districts, the challenge is less about willingness and more about math: capital budgets are finite, and the cost of aging systems, deferred maintenance, and rising construction prices keeps climbing. There's another way to fund modernization: energy and operational savings. Infrastructure upgrades - HVAC, lighting, building controls, and more - can be paid for through the savings they generate over time, without competing for scarce capital dollars. Most energy projects start with the building, but this one started with the crowd. When CEG partnered with the CA Dept. of General Services to improve sustainability across the 350-acre Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds, the data surfaced something unusual: peak-demand penalties made up more than a third of the venue's electricity costs, and over half of that peak couldn't be explained by predictable loads like lighting or cooling. The source turned out to be a 4-hour window each night of the San Diego County Fair, when 1.5 MM visitors & 450+ vendors push the venue's power use to its limit. Alongside traditional upgrades (14,000 lighting retrofits, 400 water fixtures, ventilation controls, building envelope) CEG built an innovative occupant engagement program, working directly with 100s of fair vendors to shift behavior and cut demand at the source. Together, those measures delivered a 1.2 MW (25%) reduction in peak demand in addition to $260K, 1.5 MM kwH electricity, and 2.3 MM gal. water saved each year. For public venues balancing aging systems against a full events calendar, it's proof that modernization and uptime aren't a trade-off. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQave9cC

When an energy project wraps up, the savings are guaranteed on paper. But that doesn't mean the project is over from there: performance assurance means making sure those savings show up in your utility bills, every year, on every project. Through annual measurement & verification (M&V), reporting aligned with federal standards, and ongoing engineering support, CEG confirms that the savings a project promised are the savings you receive. Across our portfolio, clients' verified savings exceed their guarantees by roughly 13% on average. Swipe through for a closer look at how Performance Assurance keeps your systems reliable and your results transparent well beyond install. Electricity prices are outpacing inflation again. The latest EIA data shows average U.S. electricity rates climbed 6.0% year-over-year as of April 2026, with commercial rates up 4.8% and industrial rates up 5.5%. For most facilities, that's going to be a trendline rather than a one-time bump. The good news: infrastructure upgrades that reduce consumption can be funded through the savings they generate, with no capital budget required. CEG Solutions has successfully passed our ISO 45001 Surveillance Audit, with zero major findings. ✅ ISO 45001 is the world's leading standard for Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. Maintaining this certification means we hold ourselves to a rigorous, independently verified standard that's not just for compliance, but because keeping our people, clients, subcontractors, and partners safe is non-negotiable. Here's what that commitment looks like in practice: 🏆 0 DART incidents: zero days away, restricted, or transferred, year after year 📊 EMR of 0.69: well below the 1.0 threshold that defines elite risk management 🔍 1,000+ safety inspections conducted annually across our job sites 🚦 Stop-Work Authority exercised every year to prevent unsafe conditions before they escalate 📚 95%+ of our team say safety training makes them more effective on the job Safety is deeply embedded in everything we do. Proud of the CEG team for making this recognition possible. #CEGSolutions #SafetyFirst #ISO45001 #OccupationalHealth #EnergyEfficiency #ESPC #WorkplaceSafety #ZeroHarm

Every summer, the U.S. power grid gets tested, and this year is no exception. As a heat wave pushes toward the holiday, here's a look at what "grid strain" actually looks like in numbers: 🌡️ Roughly 58 daily high-temperature records were expected to be tied or broken across the country this week alone. ⚡ PJM, the regional grid operator serving 67 million people across the Mid-Atlantic, is forecasting peak demand that could exceed its all-time summer record of 165,563 megawatts, set back in 2006. 📈 And this isn't a one-off: the U.S. set a new all-time peak electricity demand record in July 2025, reaching 759,180 megawatts: a record set, then broken again the very next day. When demand spikes like this, the difference between a close call and a real problem often comes down to systems built for exactly this moment. #HeatWave #Energy #Infrastructure #Resilience
