This Wednesday, July 15, the Out to Lunch Festival & Farmers' Market celebrates Disability Pride Month and commemorates the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Downtown Worcester BID is proud to partner with the City of Worcester’s Accessibility Advisory Commission for this special day of music, community, education, and connection for the second year. The celebration will feature remarks from Mayor Joseph Petty, City Councilor Robert Bilotta, State Senator Robyn Kennedy, City Manager Eric D. Batista, and Anita Griffin of Easterseals Massachusetts, who will share information about the #TeachDisabilityHistory campaign. Enjoy a live performance by Flame, a talented band whose members happen to have disabilities. During intermission, Easterseals Massachusetts will present an interactive martial arts demonstration. And, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with nonprofit organizations and community partners—many dedicated to serving and advocating for people with disabilities—while enjoying the food trucks, farmers' market, local artists and makers, and live entertainment that make Out to Lunch a Downtown Worcester tradition. We also encourage you to start the day at 11 am with the City of Worcester's Disability Pride Flag Raising Ceremony in front of City Hall. Then, head behind City Hall to the Worcester Common Oval as Out to Lunch continues the celebration from until 3 pm.
