The Experts at Designing the Experience of Living Well. #ImagineAPlace
About us
Cline is a nationally recognized integrated design firm improving lives and transforming communities through better places for living. We imagine places that bring people together, spaces where people live, work, play, and connect in meaningful ways. Through an interdisciplinary approach spanning architecture, interior design, FF&E procurement, landscape architecture, land planning, and branding, we create thoughtful, experience-driven environments that balance our clients’ goals with the needs of the people who use them. Our work is rooted in holistic placemaking: seamlessly weaving together the context of the site, the essence of the community, and the details that shape everyday experience. From multifamily and mixed-use to student housing, senior living, hospitality, adaptive reuse, and workplace environments, we design places that are purposeful, place-specific, and built to endure. At Cline, we’re just as committed to designing a thriving team culture as we are to creating exceptional spaces because great design starts with energized people, strong relationships, and a collaborative spirit.

Growth is often measured in jobs, investment, infrastructure, and population. But for the people living that growth every day, it is felt much more personally. It's felt in the length of a commute, the cost of rent, access to childcare or transit, the ability to age near community, or simply finding a place that feels like home. As North Carolina connects housing more directly to economic development, Cline's Design Director, Dan Rider, AIA, explores why housing should be understood as essential infrastructure and how thoughtful design can help communities grow well. Read Dan’s full perspective-Housing Is Economic Infrastructure: Designing the places that allow communities to grow well. https://lnkd.in/ga_x8JW9 #ImagineAPlace #Housing #EconomicInfrastructure #NCEconomicDevelopmentPlan #FirstInOpportunity

Our Charlotte office has been busy this summer! 🎉 Enjoying some time together at Puttery and connecting outside the office. 🍾 Gathering to celebrate the completion of Graham House in Uptown Charlotte and the collaboration behind its success. It's always rewarding to see a project come to life and recognize the teams that made it possible. Thank you to Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC and Daniel Corporation for hosting the celebration. #ClineCharlotte #architecture #interiordesign #collaboration # culture

Looking for a thoughtful morning listen? In a recent episode of The Intangible Brand, Cline Chief Experience Officer Carl Winstead and TOKY's Jerry Gennaria sit down with Cline client George Ghneim of The Vets Pets to explore what it means to build a brand around care and what veterinary medicine and hospitality can teach us about trust, empathy and the experiences people remember. Take a listen while you work, commute or settle into the week. Because care is not simply a service we provide or a value we communicate. It is something people and, in George’s world, their animals, should genuinely feel in every interaction, environment and decision. As Cline continues to grow our work in animal care, we’re proud to help create places that support the people doing deeply human work, comfort animals and families during vulnerable moments, and make exceptional care possible. Thank you for the kind words Rachel Russell Krenz! We loved collaborating on this project with the entire team. #ClineInteriors #CharlotteNC #BaskApartments #multifamily #interiordesign
Last week I visited the recently delivered Bask Apartments and the outparcel retail in Steele Creek neighborhood of Charlotte. It was the last project I developed while I was at Ram Realty Advisors. And wow, Bask is no generic suburban garden project. It is special. The stats back it up too - on budget, above proforma lease applications every month, and $120 premium to all units in the submarket. I wish I had gotten better pictures as these do not do it justice. I am thankful that Carson Grill and Quinn Augustine were able to work on it too. I believe one ‘secret’ to a successful project is having a clear brand from the design start that the entire team believes in. Thank you to Cline and LandDesign - especially Tim Griffin, Marina Grant, NCIDQ, Denise Hoffman, NCIDQ, Adam McGuire - and Yellow Duck Marketing for executing this awesome project so well. So many others that worked on it too including Builtech Services, LLC and a rockstar management team in Bell Partners Inc led by Angie Poage and Nicole Kennerly. The other secret to success? - Having a team of great people you enjoy working with. So rewarding to see this project come to life.

A new connection is taking shape between downtown Raleigh, Boylan Heights, and Dix Park. Ahead of its July 22 groundbreaking, we’re sharing a closer look at Rosewood, a mixed-use multifamily community designed to respond thoughtfully to its surroundings while contributing to Raleigh’s continued growth. Developed by Blue Heron Asset Management, LLC, Rosewood will bring together residential living, retail, wellness-focused amenities, and future greenway access. Brick arches, layered materials, and subtle mid-century influences create a warm, timeless character, while the building’s scale transitions toward the historic Boylan Heights neighborhood. We’re excited to see this thoughtfully designed community begin to take its place in Raleigh.
