Frontier AI has become more than a cybersecurity challenge. It is an architectural reckoning. Every fragmented system, undocumented dependency and unsupported stack your teams have worked around for years? A frontier model finds it, maps it and ranks it by exploitability in hours. The discovery-to-exploit gap has inverted, and enterprises still running AI modernization and AI security as separate programs are missing their biggest opportunity to close the gap. In his latest piece, Vishal Salvi, SVP & Global Head of Cybersecurity at Cognizant, argues that security is the entry point, but what comes through the door behind it is the entire enterprise transformation agenda. Cognizant Government Solutions is proud to announce a landmark partnership with the State of Iowa and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to modernize Iowa's executive branch IT infrastructure. Governor Kim Reynolds has directed the migration of the state's legacy data centers and physical servers to a secure, cloud-first environment on AWS. Cognizant Government Solutions will serve as the state's managed service partner, assuming responsibility for daily IT operations — including infrastructure management, on-site agency support and end-user assistance — effective August 3, 2026. This transformation is projected to deliver more than $525 million in savings over 10 years, while significantly strengthening cybersecurity posture and operational resilience across state government. As part of this transition, approximately 200 experienced state IT professionals will receive competitive offers to join Cognizant, preserving institutional knowledge and ensuring continuity of service for Iowa residents. We are committed to executing this transition with the precision and accountability that this initiative demands. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eRXbSpyB

Healthcare's AI opportunity is becoming clearer, and it is showing up where enterprises least expected it. In a recent podcast with Fierce Healthcare, our SVP and Head of Healthcare Payer Business, Sanjay Subramanian, shares how the industry has shifted from AI experimentation to AI economics. The strongest returns are emerging in back-office functions — claims processing, prior authorization, and revenue cycle — where AI can operate at scale and deliver measurable impact across the enterprise. His central point: the organizations leading in healthcare AI are the ones moving deliberately from pilots to enterprise-wide industrialization, with responsibility and governance built in from the start. As an AI Builder, that is the work we are focused on, helping healthcare enterprises close the gap between AI potential and business results. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/ew_Vbq8i

The conversation around AI and jobs tends to focus on which roles will be impacted. Our Chief People Officer, Kathy Diaz, offered a different lens at today's AI Forum. The more useful question is how you build a workforce around the reality of AI. At Cognizant, that means redesigning careers around future-oriented job families, building clear pathways and developing truly interdisciplinary AI Builders. Cognizant Skillspring™ is the engine making it real.

Three sessions at today's AI Forum painted a clear picture of what it actually takes to scale AI across the enterprise. Prasad Sankaran, President, AI Platform and Products, made the case for how the services model is inverting and platforms are how we scale. Naveen Sharma, Global Practice Head, AI & Analytics, zeroed in on something the industry keeps underestimating: models will commoditize, but context will not. That's where real engineering work happens. Sandeep Bhasin, Global Head of Intuitive Operations and Automation, brought it to operations, moving beyond generic AI to contextual, domain-specific solutions that are opening up entirely new value pools for clients.

The boundary between digital intelligence and physical operations has held for two decades. The technology matured. The architecture never followed. Enterprises built AI into their digital layers and stopped at the edge of the physical world. The factory floor. The energy grid. The hospital supply chain. Intelligence got close and then deferred. What we kept finding, across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, utilities, was the same structural problem. Physical systems generating enormous signal. No shared context to reason across it. No institutional memory the enterprise actually owned. The ability to sense everything and act confidently on very little. The gap was architectural all along. Today we're launching a sovereign Physical AI Platform-as-a-Service, built on the Cognizant Intelligence Spine, designed to sit between the physical edge and the agentic layer and close that gap. Governed, sovereign, compounding in value over time as an asset the enterprise owns. Enterprise infrastructure, built to scale from day one. As an AI Builder, this is the problem we built for.
