Last month, NASA named COLSA as an awardee for the Solutions for Enterprise-wide Procurement (SEWP) VI Government-wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). While SEWP IV included three categories, COLSA won placement within Category B: Enterprise-wide IT Service Solutions. This contract vehicle will allow COLSA to continue to expand our space missions, with an effective ordering period of 10 years lasting through 2036!

David Johnson, Quality Engineer, is retiring after a 43-year career at COLSA! In honor of his retirement, we asked him to look back on his career and reflect. He shared this with us about getting hired as COLSA's 7th employee: "I interviewed with Mr. Collazo and within a short time, I received an Offer Letter from COLSA on June 28, 1983. Mr. Collazo worked out of his garage for three years prior to opening COLSA Corporation on July 5, 1983, which happens to also be my hire date. I received my COLSA Badge and was issued my employee number #007." David began his career at COLSA as a Computer Scientist and then progressed into a Systems Analyst role. He supported COLSA's Advanced Research Center (ARC) contract for over 10 years, and his primary duties supported the EV88 and EVPA U.S. government programs. These were in support of President Ronald Reagan's "STAR WAR" Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). Through this initiative, the team developed Concepts of Operations via the use of war gaming exercises both locally and with remote personnel and assets in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After serving on the ARC contract, David became COLSA's Quality Engineer. Read more about his career here: https://lnkd.in/gSkS4Gzm Thank you, David, for your dedication, teamwork, and integrity! We wish you a happy and fulfilling retirement!

Thank you to the ALS Association for inviting COLSA to participate in this year's CEO Soak! We're thankful for the opportunity to support an organization doing such meaningful work for individuals and families affected by ALS. A special shoutout to our Executive Vice President and COO, Mike Ledbetter, DBA, for taking on the 90 second ice plunge in support of the ALS Association. Funds raised through CEO Soak help provide care services, advocacy, and research that make a difference for people living with ALS and their families. The ALS Association continues to make a meaningful impact through the support, resources, and research they provide every day. We're honored to support their mission and help raise awareness in the fight against ALS. #COLSA #FamilyOfProfessionals #ALSAssociation #CEOSoak

Our annual Uncrewed Systems BBQ brought together members from all UCS teams to enjoy delicious food and celebrate the group's successes. ✨ The gathering started off with a spotlight from Program Manager, Brian Wohlschlaeger, highlighting the team's major achievements for the first half of the year. Key milestones included enhancements in our Production team's fabrication abilities and deliverables alongside major successes. These accomplishments have built a fantastic foundation to ensure that the second half of the year will yield even greater milestones and continued momentum for our team.👏

Investing in our interns means helping them feel ready for what's next! 💙 During our HR Event, interns started the day with mock interviews led by our Talent Acquisition team. They then heard from Michelle Gray and the Communications team, who shared practical tips for navigating the job search and building a strong professional presence. We can't wait to see how they put what they learned into practice as they take the next step in their careers!

We kicked off our first Waffles at Work event with a fresh breakfast before the workday began! 🧇 Sometimes the best part of the day is simply taking a little time to connect with one another. Thanks to everyone who joined us! #COLSA #Trailblazers

Employees enjoyed lunch from a local food truck and some beautiful weather at headquarters recently. 🥪☀️ It was the perfect opportunity to get outside, take a break from the usual routine, and spend time with coworkers over lunch. Between the sunshine and the sandwiches, it made for a great afternoon! #COLSA #FamilyOfProfessionals
