Orthopedic practices continue facing increasing pressure from every direction — reimbursement compression, rising operating costs, physician recruitment challenges, and growing competition for outpatient volume.
I appreciated the opportunity to join Baker Donelson’s Orthopedic Practice Strategy & Growth Forum to discuss one area that is becoming increasingly important for independent groups: income repair through ASC ownership and ancillary revenue sources.
One thing is becoming clear across healthcare right now: practices that build aligned outpatient infrastructure are often better positioned to preserve physician autonomy, improve operational scalability, and create long-term growth opportunities.
The future of orthopedic growth will not simply be about seeing more patients. It will be about building the right strategic foundation around physicians, outpatient care, and aligned partnerships.
Thank you to the Baker Donelson team and Dana Jacoby for the discussion.
