Concessions International, LLC (CI), a dynamic food and beverage operator, is a family and minority-owned company with operations in Atlanta, Dallas Ft. Worth, District of Columbia, Denver, Miami, Seattle and St. Thomas. Our mission is to be a diversified food service company recognized for providing superior guest service, with exceptional growth and opportunity for our team members. CI operates national brands, including Seattle's Best Coffee, Panda Express, Wetzel's Pretzels and Einstein Bros. Bagels. Additionally, CI has brought several regional brands into airports, including Paschal's (Atlanta), Proof of the Pudding (Atlanta), and Heidi's Brooklyn Deli (Denver). Take a Child to Work Day at H. J. Russell & Company was especially meaningful this year as we participated across our offices for the first time. We welcomed our employees’ children into our spaces, giving them a firsthand look at what their parents help build every day. From jobsite exposure to hands-on activities, the day was filled with curiosity, excitement, and pride. Inspiring the next generation starts with access and exposure. Recently, 40 students from Herman J. Russell West End Academy participated in “A Day in the Life of a Restaurant Manager” at Paschal's Restaurant an immersive experience designed to introduce young people to careers in culinary and hospitality. Students were also joined by Nikki T. Harland, CEO of Concessions International, and Mori Russell Atkins, Director of Business Development, further reinforcing the importance of leadership, mentorship, and representation within the industry. From hands-on learning in both front-of-house and back-of-house operations to engaging discussions about leadership, entrepreneurship, and legacy, students were encouraged to think like managers and future business owners. This initiative not only highlights the wide range of opportunities within hospitality but also reinforces the importance of community involvement and creating pathways for future leaders. Experiences like these go beyond career exploration, they help shape confident, capable individuals ready to make an impact.
