It’s with bittersweet emotion that we announce the retirement of Niles Cole, Copic’s Chief Financial Officer. He has served in this role for the past 10 years and will be departing Copic at the end of the year. During Niles’s tenure, he was an instrumental member of our leadership team who helped grow Copic into a leading regional carrier and expand our business on a national level. Niles exuded positivity and enthusiasm every day at Copic, whether it was crunching and analyzing numbers or demonstrating our mission to improve medicine in the communities we serve. He will be sorely missed. Working in the medical professional liability (MPL) insurance industry for over 43 years with 36 years at three physician-led MPL carriers companies, Niles leaves a noticeable imprint in the MPL Association as a thoughtful leader and mentor. Niles noted, “I will remember fondly working alongside THE BEST team of finance professionals as well as Dr. Z, the Board of Directors, Copic’s Operational Council, the Leadership Team, and the entire Copic family.” Congratulations and best wishes to Niles as he ends his professional life and turns his attention away from the three “r’s” of rates, reserves and reinsurance to the two “r’s” of rest and relaxation. With this announcement, we’re launching a national search for our next CFO. Even with these large (size 15) shoes to fill, we know we’ll find just the right person to keep Copic on its strong path forward.
