Closing out our Season of Support, we are proud to recognize Northwoods Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and the incredible people who call it home. Our support helped provide holiday gifts for residents, food and treats for staff and a contribution to the Resident Sunshine Fund, which helps bring extra moments of comfort and joy to residents throughout the year. We're grateful for the opportunity to give back locally and to recognize the care, compassion and dedication shown every day at Northwoods, especially during the holiday season. IN MY FATHERS KITCHEN is a powerful example of meeting people with dignity, respect and consistency. Beyond providing meals and basic necessities, they focus on building relationships and showing genuine care for individuals experiencing homelessness in our community. Their approach is thoughtful, compassionate and rooted in human connection, and that's what makes their work so meaningful. We're honored to support what they do every day.
The Grieving Families Act has been vetoed for a fourth time. While designed to modernize New York's wrongful death damages framework, concerns about economic impact and insurance costs continue to block enactment. Today we’re happy to highlight the Food Bank of Central New York, a true cornerstone in the fight to make sure our neighbors have access to food when they need it most. This past year alone, they distributed millions of pounds of food--the equivalent of nearly 19 million meals--for people across 11 CNY counties. What’s really impressive is how they work behind the scenes, rescuing food, partnering with local pantries, and supporting our region with both resources and compassion. We’re proud to support an organization that makes such a real, measurable difference in our community.
Today, for our first spotlight, we’re proud to support David's Refuge, an organization doing truly special work for families in our community. David’s Refuge provides something that’s often overlooked but incredibly important: support for the caregivers of children with special needs or life threatening medical conditions. They create space for rest, connection, and encouragement, reminding families that they’re not alone. We’re grateful for the compassion and care they bring to Central New York.
