For years, building a clinical trial database usually meant handing requirements to a programming team and waiting for the finished product to come back for review. The good news is today's study teams have far more options. Visual, drag-and-drop study builders have made it possible for sponsors and CROs to configure most aspects of a study themselves, helping reduce handoffs and making it easier to refine studies as protocols evolve. Now, AI is beginning to make that process even more approachable by assisting with tasks like protocol interpretation, form creation, and study configuration. Study teams will always be responsible for the decisions that shape a clinical trial. As AI becomes part of the study build process, it has the potential to reduce some of the manual effort involved, giving researchers more time to focus on the work that benefits most from their experience and judgment. We explored this shift, and why we're seeing more organizations choosing to build studies themselves: https://lnkd.in/eexQgyGy

One of the common questions we hear is, "Can your platform store ALL of our data?" It's an important question - it just isn't the first one we encourage organizations to ask. Long-term success depends just as much on how data is organized, connected, and made available throughout the study lifecycle as it does on how much storage a platform provides. Architecture has a direct impact on reporting, integrations, scalability across study portfolios and, ultimately, how effectively research teams can use their data. Our latest article breaks down why database architecture deserves just as much attention as storage capacity when evaluating clinical trial technology: https://lnkd.in/eXJEhTwx

A unified eClinical platform is sometimes viewed as something only large enterprise organizations need, but at CDS we've found the opposite can be true. For smaller sponsors and CROs, managing multiple systems tends to mean more vendors, more contracts, more integrations, and more opportunities for data to become disconnected. Bringing those functions together within a single platform can simplify data collection and study management long before an organization reaches enterprise scale. AI becomes more valuable when it supports the entire clinical research process instead of focusing solely on solving isolated tasks. That's the philosophy behind TrialKit AI: by bringing intelligence into protocol development, study design, database build, simulation, validation, and analysis, researchers can move from one stage to the next without leaving the platform or disrupting established workflows. Clinical trials generate large amounts of data from a myriad of sources. The challenge is rarely a lack of information; instead, it's connecting that information in a way that supports timely, informed decisions. This is where AI can make a meaningful impact. By learning across data collected within TrialKit, as well as external sources, TrialKit AI helps researchers uncover relationships, identify patterns, and generate insights that would be difficult to recognize by reviewing datasets independently. Here, we explore how connected data and AI are helping researchers move from fragmented information to a more complete view of study performance: https://hubs.ly/Q04pvpsb0

There are general-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, and then there are AI platforms built specifically for clinical research. The difference goes well beyond generating content. Purpose-built AI understands study protocols, clinical workflows, regulatory expectations and the complexities of designing, building and managing studies within a compliant environment. In this article, we take a closer look at what distinguishes clinical research-focused AI from general-purpose tools, and why that distinction is so important for sponsors and CROs seeking to accelerate study development with confidence. https://lnkd.in/eQHHCfGW

Design, build, and launch studies in minutes instead of weeks? Yes, you can! AI is changing far more than individual tasks in clinical research. When it's embedded throughout the study lifecycle, it can accelerate protocol development, study design, database build, simulation, validation, and analysis, all within a unified platform. Our latest article explores how TrialKit AI brings intelligence to each stage of clinical development and helps researchers spend less time on repetitive work while making more informed study decisions. Crucial Data Solutions Founder and CEO Paul Grady recently sat down with longtime friend and industry colleague Wessam Sonbol for a wide-ranging conversation on the evolution of clinical research technology and where the industry may be headed next. Their discussion spans more than four decades of innovation, from the early days of clinical databases to today's AI-enabled platforms. Along the way, they explore regulatory compliance, participant data ownership, study design, affordability, and how new tech is reshaping the way clinical studies are built and managed. Thank you to Wessam for the opportunity to share perspectives on an industry that continues to evolve and for hosting such a thoughtful conversation! Nearly 26 years ago, I was introduced to the world of #clinicalresearch through Paul Grady. We developed TCTMD.com, we developed Global View, one of the industry's largest Post Market Platforms, which was purchased by PPD - then we each went our separate ways. I always blamed Paul for bringing me into this world, but he is also one of the reasons why I am where I am today. I learned a ton from him, and couldn't pass an opportunity to have him on my podcast. #clinicalresearch #innovation #patientdata #ai

At CDS, we believe clinical research technology should be accessible to organizations of every size, not only those with the largest budgets. Innovation has little impact if it's out of reach. That's why we've built TrialKit to combine sophisticated capabilities, including AI-assisted study development, within a unified platform designed to be both flexible and cost accessible. Our Platform License Agreement (PLA) extends that philosophy by giving organizations a predictable way to scale across multiple studies without repeatedly navigating new software purchases and contracting cycles. Researchers already have enough complexity to manage; technology should help remove barriers, not create new ones. https://lnkd.in/eR2SMFjX #clinicalresearch #clinicaltrials #eClinical #EDC #TrialKit
