Inspiring developers to build great software.

About us

At Devpost our mission is to inspire the world's developers to build great software. We do that by powering nearly all in-person and virtual software competitions around the globe. We have a large, global network of software developers who discover and participate in hackathons on our platform in order to learn, build something great, and earn exposure. Organizations run online and in-person competitions to market their tools to our active developer community. Our customers include Amazon, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and many others. Our culture is centered around a close relationship with our community, and a dedication to continuously improve our offering and ourselves to meet their needs. Employees are empowered to explore and take ownership, and to make decisions in line with our metrics and mission. Our mission is firmly rooted in the belief that technology can bring about important change and improve lives.

  • Add our 2026 AI Trends Report to your morning reading list. ☕ Built on data from millions of Devpost developers over the past 15 years, this report reveals how developer AI behavior is actually changing—and what you need to know to stay ahead in 2026. Get the full report here: https://lnkd.in/exPFqNj2

I usually read New York Times in my AM, but today I'm reading the #AI Trends Report 2026 provided by Devpost. Thanks for the merch! Some insights to share: 1. Companies aren't experimenting with AI hackathons. They're scaling them. 2. Agentic AI is the fastest-growing category in developer building. 3. Enterprise AI is overwhelmingly operational. 4. AI building has shifted from learning to doing (I loved this!) 5. Professional developers are building measurably faster. 6. More hackathons = more shipping. 7. The AI model market is in flux. And it's moving fast. 8. Provider loyalty is fading. Most developers use multiple AI tools 9. Cost and model quality are neck and neck as the top blockers. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #GenerativeAI #AgenticAI #SoftwareEngineering #Developers #EnterpriseAI #DeveloperProductivity #Innovation #DevPost

  • Can we build context-aware AI agents? Yes we can. 🛠️ We are officially 13 days away from the submission deadline for Build with DataHub: The Agent Hackathon! Everyone is building AI agents right now, but without complete context, agents can hallucinate or get stuck on tasks. That’s where DataHub’s open-source Context Platform comes in. Using DataHub's MCP Server, Agent Context Kit, and DataHub Skills, you can show what's possible when agents have context. There is still plenty of time to jump in! 📅 Deadline: August 10, 2026 👉 Register and start building today: https://lnkd.in/eASwBWiR

We're hosting an AI agent + DataHub hackathon. 🛠️ Build with DataHub: The Agent Hackathon is open for submissions through August 10. $20,500 in prizes across four challenge categories. Swipe to see what you can build! Your project should use at least one: the DataHub Open Source Platform (3,000+ organizations, 100+ connectors), the MCP Server and Agent Context Kit (LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK), or the Context Graph — lineage, ownership, governance, ML metadata, connected as a single queryable graph. We can't wait to see what this community builds. 🙌 Submit at datahub.devpost.com, hosted with Devpost P.S. Join the DataHub Community Slack to ask questions and learn from other builders!

Just won Product Bundle by Mind the Product at World Product Day: Everyone Ships Now with ScratchML 🎉 The premise: Scratch, but for AI. Kids snap colorful blocks into a recipe, show a few examples by webcam or doodle, and watch a real neural network learn to see, live in the browser. No code. No accounts. Nothing uploaded, ever. Google's Teachable Machine proved the pipeline back in 2017. We asked a different question: what would it take for a seven-year-old to do this alone, and want to come back tomorrow? So we built for three things: → No camera required (crayon drawings become the dataset) → A pipeline you can see (every step is a named block you snap into place) → Joy (a robot coach, sounds, confetti, so the moment it learns feels like magic you made) Grateful to Mind the Product and Devpost. Full Project can be seen here : https://lnkd.in/gdyGSZxd Onto the next one. #Hackathon #AI #MachineLearning #EdTech #BuildInPublic

First time at DevRelCon representing Devpost and a time was had!! I got to spend a few days doing one of my favorite things: talking to people who live at the intersection of building and teaching. I have way more stickers and swag than I know what to do with and I’m sure there are tons of pics of me out there I don’t know about yet so tag me if we took one and connect with me if we chatted! To everyone who raided the Devpost booth and let me yap about hackathons, thanks! Let’s keep the convo going! If you’re interested in hosting or joining a hackathon, head to https://devpost.com today. If you’re a devrel wanting to get in front of millions of devs, send me a message & let’s do a workshop! 👀

  • We're excited to announce the winners of the Google Cloud Rapid Agent Hackathon: Building Agents for Real-World Challenges! Over 14,000 developers stepped up to move beyond standard chatbots and build autonomous agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing complex workflows. Powered by Gemini and Google Cloud Agent Builder, builders integrated Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers from six industry partners to give their agents real-world superpowers. Out of hundreds of incredible submissions, $60,000 in cash has been awarded across 18 winning projects. See all the projects! https://lnkd.in/g6GH_v7D

  • Your Code Is Calling 📞 CALL-E is testing what happens when you give an agent a phone line: plan a call, dial out, hold a natural conversation, adapt in real time, and return structured results you can act on. Build and deploy a functional application that uses CALL-E to solve a real business problem: customer outreach, appointment scheduling, lead qualification, service coordination, workflow automation, or something no one's even tried yet. 💰 $10,000 in prizes 📅 Submissions close September 14. Pick up the phone (or computer?) and register today! https://bit.ly/calle26li

This was a fun one! I had the opportunity to judge the Splunk Agentic Ops Hackathon, and the teams seriously brought it. Creative ideas, real-world use cases, and some impressive ways of combining AI with the power of Splunk. A lot of signal, very little noise. 😉 Huge congratulations to the winners—and to everyone who built, experimented, and put their ideas out there. Grateful to Splunk and Devpost for the opportunity to be part of it! #Splunk #AgenticAI #Hackathon
