A defining milestone for Ecobat: we've completed the sale of our Germany and Austria battery recycling operations to Clarios. Together with our earlier divestitures in France, Italy, and the UK, this marks our exit from the European lead market — positioning Ecobat as a focused North American platform. Among the many valuable connections we made at IAA Mobility, we were honored to welcome two distinguished guests to our booth. Dr. Simone Peter, President of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE), visited to learn more about Ecobat’s business and the environmental and regulatory challenges we are navigating today. Key topics included energy prices and the Omnibus regulation. We were also pleased to host State Secretary Frank Wetzel (BMWK) and Götz Schneider (VDA). Both expressed their support and offered assistance as we continue advancing sustainable solutions within the energy and automotive industries. We are grateful for these important conversations and the opportunity to collaborate with leaders who share our commitment to a more sustainable future.

We were honored to welcome Sebastian Vettel to our booth yesterday where we discussed the future of lead-acid batteries and the circular economy. In a thoughtful dialogue with Erich Esser and his team, Sebastian learned how Ecobat already recycles entire batteries in one of the most efficient and environmentally responsible ways available. By returning recovered materials—lead and polypropylene—back to the automotive industry, we are closing the loop and contributing to a more sustainable value chain. Yet, the journey does not stop here. Achieving a truly sustainable future will require designing products with recycling in mind and deepening collaboration with OEMs on specifications. Together, we can accelerate innovation and deliver on our shared responsibility to the planet. Thank you, Sebastian, for your interest and support as we work collectively toward a more sustainable automotive industry.

Great start for the Ecobat Poly team today at IAA MOBILITY in Munich! We were honored to welcome Staatssekretärin Petra Dick-Walther to our booth, where she engaged in an open discussion on the current challenges facing the automotive industry and learned more about our sustainable solutions. Later, our booth hosted the European High-Tech Pavilion, and as part of the Ministry of Rhineland-Palatinate, she invited guests to a meet-and-greet session. Erich Esser took the stage to highlight Ecobat’s circular economy approach—a key driver of innovation and sustainability in our industry. We’re excited to welcome another special guest on Tuesday. Stay tuned!
