This week we hosted a regional HR training in Billings, MT! Our directors of human resources gathered together to share ideas, challenges, and take time to learn more about how to help our people succeed. We're grateful for all they're doing, and impressed by their knowledge shown during some clever HR Jeopardy!

Administrator meetings always seem to have a little extra fun in the Maverick Region. Most recently, that extra fun was well merited. This group not only had a record-breaking month for their bottom line, but have been making significant improvements in all other outcomes at their facilities. We continue to see a trend of clinical and cultural improvements at the facilities that succeed financially, making it clear how closely the three areas are intertwined in the skilled nursing industry. Kudos to Robert Reese for overseeing some big turns recently, and congratulations to not only the admins, but all employees of the Maverick Region! We’re so glad to have you on our team 👊

We have two new additions to our "Market Leader" award recipients--both are amazing facilities in Montana! Elkhorn Nursing and Rehab, and Southwest Montana Veterans Home have made incredible progress in both census growth and Medicare star ratings, earning this recognition. After celebrating with each team this week, it's clear to see how they have worked together to achieve such great outcomes at their buildings. It's also no coincidence that Area President Brenna Anderson selected individuals from each facility as recipients for the coveted "Bewsey Bars!" We'll share more on this soon, but this exclusive awards grants the employee a golden ticket to attend this year's company leadership summit!

We're excited to officially announce our entry into Wyoming! Yesterday we acquired Big Horn Rehabilitation & Care Center in Sheridan. We know these transitions can be surprising and overwhelming for staff, so we always try to send a large team on-site for the announcement. Our corporate staff spent the day with their team talking about Eduro, answering questions, reviewing company benefits, and getting to know the facility and staff. Of course, we always try to make a great first impression by catering lunch for the staff, so the food truck was a must!

Armando is a nurse at one of our San Antonio facilities, Silver Creek Nursing & Rehab. He is a true example of how to care for our wonderful residents, and does a phenomenal job. We're grateful for Armando and hope to employ nurses at all our facilities that work and care in the same way he does. Thank you, Armando!

Todd is an Activities Assistant at one of our facilities. He is a great example of the idea that anyone can make a difference in their job. Ever since he joined our team, he's uplifted everyone around him, both resident and employees. We're grateful to have people like Todd that make up who we are at Eduro. We love you, Todd! Thanks for all you're doing!

We recently hosted another open house at our facility in Richardson, TX. If it seems like we've been doing a lot of these lately, it's because we have! Reinvesting back into our facilities is one of the ways we try to offer a better experience for our residents, and better results for our real estate partners. This was a wonderful event filled with live music, door prizes, great food, and tours of the newly renovated facility. We had several partners in the community show up to see what's new, and enjoyed visiting with all of you there. Thanks to everyone who played a part in this renovation and big event!

Cooney Healthcare hosted a fantastic open house yesterday in Helena, MT! We had so many community partners come visit to see the major remodel recently completed at this facility. Everyone received their own little goodie bag, and several raffle winners left with some big prizes. The dietary team went above and beyond. Rather than catering in food for the guests, they decided to show us their stuff and prepared everything in-house (with those macaroons as the only exception). We appreciate all the work this team has done to work towards and through this remodel, and glad to better serve our residents and community in this new and improved building! 

We hosted a "mastermind" sort of meeting at our corporate office today with a select group of Administrators and Marketing Directors. Each of the attendees has made a significant impact on recent census growth, so they each had time to share their thoughts on the subject. We learned about their challenges, solutions, and obstacles to overcome as they dealt with the burden of additional residents at their facilities. Two themes clearly emerged through these discussions. First, a good team is everything. Most of these attendees couldn't give enough praise to other members of their teams. The second theme was mindset. Everyone had historic trends or valid excuses as to why growing census past a certain point was not possible, and yet, they did it. We love seeing this growth across the company, and appreciate these leaders for the impact they are making in their communities!

Last month, our Yellowstone River facility (Billings, MT) was blessed with a special visit from Kari Jones. Kari hand-sewed and delivered 142 custom pillowcases through her organization, SewKindness. She originally began this work for foster children after learning that many move between homes with all their belongings in a garbage bag. Her goal was simply to give them something personal that’s truly theirs. Our Director of Marketing, Laurie, asked whether that same idea could translate to a nursing home setting. While the circumstances are different, many seniors experience their own form of transition and loss of identity when moving into full-time care. A small personal item can matter more than we often realize. We turned the day into a simple ceremony and invited residents to choose their own pillowcase. The excitement was immediate. Some didn’t even want to hand theirs over so our laundry team could label them. You could tell that these already meant something to the residents. Our Yellowstone River team works every day to create comfort and belonging. Kari’s time and care added a meaningful layer to that effort, and we’re grateful she chose to share her work with our residents.
