🏗️ After years of construction—and weeks of political uncertainty—the Gordie Howe International Bridge is finally open. The $4.4-billion Detroit-Windsor crossing now carries passenger and commercial traffic, ending a cross-border standoff that delayed its launch despite completion. The opening revitalizes a key trade route and creates an international gateway to enhance freight flow at North America's busiest border crossing. Beyond the engineering, the bridge's path to opening highlights how geopolitics, permitting and international agreements can shape the delivery of major infrastructure long after construction ends. ➡️ Read more: https://brnw.ch/21x4sYY ▪️Image: Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority #Bridges #Infrastructure
