About us

Inspired by Jewish values, we PROTECT the vulnerable, EMPOWER individuals, and STRENGTHEN families. Gulf Coast JFCS is a nonsectarian, community-based, Florida nonprofit that helps the most vulnerable individuals in our community, from babies to seniors, find safety, comfort, and a path toward a fulfilling life. To help as many people as comprehensively as possible through complex life challenges, Gulf Coast JFCS programs span a broad human service spectrum. The outcome – lives uplifted! Founded in 1960 and incorporated in 1974, Gulf Coast JFCS now serves approximately 30,000 people annually across Greater Tampa Bay and beyond.

    Looking for a little inspiration before heading into the weekend? We are sharing another story for Christmas in July! ❄️ Just days before Christmas, a father with five young children lost power to his home after falling behind on a large electric bill. With seven family members suddenly without lights, heat, refrigeration, or other basic necessities, multiple Gulf Coast JFCS programs sprang into action! Through the collaboration of FAME, Tampa Bay Job Links, Jewish Family Services, and dedicated staff who refused to give up, the family's electricity was restored just in time for Christmas. The family also received groceries, holiday gifts for the children, and additional support to help them through the holiday season. But the story didn't end there. Through Gulf Coast JFCS's wraparound approach to care, the father was connected to ongoing career coaching, employment support, and resources designed to help his family achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Today, the father is gainfully employed, living in stable housing, and building a brighter future for his family. A little hope can go a long way when a community comes together. ❤️

    🎄✨ We are trading the summer heat for holiday spirit! One Christmas in July celebration brought laughter and creativity as children designed ornaments inspired by their memories, traditions, favorite places, and loved ones. Each creation told a unique story and gave us a glimpse into what matters most to them. The day was made even sweeter with pajamas, goodie bags, and plenty of holiday cheer. ❤️

    What a meaningful way to celebrate World Refugee Day! 🌎❤️ In partnership with USF Health a we welcomed more than 200 attendees to a community health event featuring food distribution, family activities, and free health screenings generously hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. More than 200 community members attended for food distribution, family-friendly activities, and free health services. Together, we completed 192 health screenings, helping neighbors better understand their health through diabetes, blood pressure, and vision screenings. Thank you to our partners, volunteers, and attendees for making this event such a success and helping us advance health and wellness in our community!
