We are so excited and proud to be a partner with Hachette Book Group as they support early literacy through Raising Readers! Every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of reading. A book can open the door to new worlds, spark imagination, inspire curiosity, and introduce ideas that stay with us long after we’ve turned the final page. Some of life’s greatest adventures begin with the turn of a page. Research shows that reading for pleasure is one of the strongest predictors of a child’s future success, helping children build communication skills, confidence, creativity, empathy, and emotional well-being while fostering a lifelong love of learning. That’s why Raising Readers encourages parents, caregivers, educators, librarians, booksellers, publishers, and communities to make reading for enjoyment part of children’s daily lives. Reading with a child for 10 minutes a day can kick-start a life-changing habit. The story you share today may become part of their story tomorrow. Black Kidds Read Too is partnering with Hachette Book Group to support their Raising Readers initiative through a series of literacy-focused community events. Our goal is simple: get more books and school supplies into the hands of young readers while creating meaningful experiences that encourage a lifelong love of reading. If you’re a school, library, nonprofit, community center, youth organization, or other organization in Connecticut interested in partnering, I’d love to connect and explore how we can bring this initiative to your community.

One Day. Thousands of Books. Hundreds of Volunteers. One Shared Mission. On July 9th, Hachette English Language employees around the world came together for our first-ever Global Volunteer Day in support of Raising Readers, our social impact initiative dedicated to helping children discover the joy of reading. Across the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Ireland, India, Australia, and Canada, employees partnered with more than a dozen literacy organizations and 170 bookstores to support children, families, educators, and communities through read-alouds, library projects, summer reading programs, book sorting, classroom donations, and more. Together, we donated thousands of books, assembled classroom libraries, supported community literacy organizations, and invested our time in one shared goal: making it easier for children to develop a lifelong love of reading. This milestone also marks the fulfillment of Hachette’s commitment to invest $200,000 in Raising Readers during our 200th anniversary year. Since launching the initiative, we’ve supported 200 classroom libraries, mobilized more than 200 employee volunteers, partnered with more than 50 organizations and independent bookstores, and are continuing to expand access to books in communities that need them most. A heartfelt thank you to our employees and partners whose passion and dedication continue to bring the mission of Raising Readers to life. 📖 Read more about Global Volunteer Day and Raising Readers: https://lnkd.in/dXsfrJmF #RaisingReaders #Literacy #Volunteerism #CommunityImpact #Publishing #HachetteBookGroup
