Hammerhead AI is turning today’s power‑limited AI factories into high‑throughput token engines by using reinforcement learning agents to orchestrate compute, cooling, and power. Operators can generate up to 30% more AI tokens within their existing power limits, without waiting years for new interconnects or power plants. The Hammerhead team has previously optimized more than 8 GW of mission‑critical power infrastructure and is now applying that experience directly to AI workloads through ORCA, an agentic control platform that makes every megawatt do more work. The result is a step‑function improvement in AI economics, more tokens per unit of power and materially lower token costs, positioning Hammerhead as core infrastructure for the next wave of AI growth.

  • We were wrong. For the last year, we’ve been telling data center operators and inference providers that they had a choice: wait five or so years for infrastructure to be ready for their locations, or leverage ORCA to speed time to deployment down to a few months. Apparently, there was another way (see below). However, if you’re not intending to purchase a gas turbine company, the point still remains. We can speed your time to deployment, increase your inference capacity, and improve your unit economics. https://lnkd.in/g6aGJDsk

    Another data center moratorium. Another deep debate about whether AI's power demand fits with the communities living next to it. Sean James published a great piece this week on why data centers need to disappear into the background, the way substations already have. Worth the read. (Hat tip to the image caption 🙂) Link: https://lnkd.in/gD7JprGf So, as moratoriums spread state-by-state, where do AI inference providers find the power to meet demand that isn't slowing down? The fastest megawatt is the one that’s already built. Most data centers today run at 30-50% utilization, sitting inside already-approved grid allocations, megawatts waiting to be extracted.   • Are we standing at the edge of a subsidy cliff? Many of the newest data centers were built with support from state and municipal governments, often including tax breaks or subsidies as part of the reason an inference provider would select a specific location. Community pushback, however, has lessened the appetite for many community leaders and politicians, many of whom are clawing back money or passing along fees for new infrastructure. One of the best ways to avoid falling off the cliff is to better leverage what’s already available, using stranded power to increase inference output without additional infrastructure.

  • One of the main concerns of inference providers is maintaining their SLAs. While there is tremendous investment poured into new facilities, the idea of redundancy can be treated as an afterthought. In this segment with Robert Scoble, our CEO, Rahul Kar, shares how we can support site resiliency, without the need for additional infrastructure at various locations. The result is rapid deployment of distributed compute, securing SLA compliance and minimizing community impact.

  • Last week, a massive heatwave impacted over 200 million Americans, exposing the physical limits of our power infrastructure, at a time when community push-back against data centers is growing nearly as quickly as demand for AI capacity. Gartner is predicting that power used for AI will surpass power used by traditional servers sometime in 2027. We believe the “either/or” narrative, where the country is forced to choose between meeting the needs of its citizens or meeting the demand of AI, is generally false, and that this is a challenge of utilization. And we’re not alone in this belief. ⚡ Most data centers use less than half of the power they’ve been allotted, and this is the case for facilities that have been updated as well as newly built.  🕘 A recent study by Massachusetts Institute of Technology shows that shifting AI workloads to off-peak hours can actually save consumers on their electricity costs.  🌊 NVIDIA recently rolled out a data center that uses a closed loop water system for cooling, reducing power and water consumption in data centers. This is why we chose to join the Data Center Power Coalition initiated by Sijbrandij Foundation, working with other leaders in the space to create a responsible framework for the deployment of AI technology. https://lnkd.in/gPymBiuS
