Dear Hub Leaders & Friends, It gives me great pleasure to announce that the Honor Flight Network Board of Directors has officially elected a new Chairman of the Board and President of Honor Flight Network, Theresa Werner! Theresa is the first woman to hold this position in the history of the organization, marking a truly historic milestone for Honor Flight! This is an especially exciting moment, ushering in a new era of leadership for the next chapter of this incredible organization. As we celebrate the first 20 years of Honor Flight, look towards a bright future, and continuously refine Honor Flight for the better, the time seems 100% right for a fresh, new perspective strategically guiding the organization forward: •Someone who cares deeply about Honor Flight! •Someone who is committed to excellence and professionalism, shaping this organization from within! •And finally, someone who desires to build on our already existing strong foundation and bring Honor Flight Network to that next level. Theresa possesses these exact qualities and so much more. HFN is certainly fortunate to have her as Chair! Many of you already know Theresa through her long history of hands-on service with Honor Flight. She began volunteering in 2009 and has served as a guardian, bus captain, tour guide, and even entertainer. She joined the Honor Flight Network Board of Directors in 2018 and has been an officer, and my right hand, for the last several years. Theresa hails from a proud military family. Her father was a Navy Captain and Vietnam War veteran who served for 30 years, last as chief of staff for U.S. Naval operations in Seoul, after which he joined Lockheed Martin. Her mother, the incredible Mrs. Betty whom we all know and love, exemplified the role of a dedicated military spouse, actively involved in every aspect of supporting the mission, the family, and the military community throughout her husband’s career. Their service inspired Theresa to support and honor our nation’s veterans. Theresa’s commitment to honoring veterans is indeed deeply personal. As the first-ever Chairwoman, Theresa’s leadership priorities include: • Enhancing collaboration between the national organization and its hubs, along with growing Honor Flight’s presence nationwide in currently unserved and underserved regions. • She will also focus on strategic planning for the future of the organization, including the next generations of veterans and fundraising. In every leadership transition, there is opportunity. I see abundant opportunity with the current shift in Honor Flight’s leadership. With Theresa’s deep experience, both in the Honor Flight world and beyond, I can’t wait to see what’s next for Honor Flight with her at the helm. Honor Flight Network Elects Frank Peter Kimler as Vice Chairman of the Board Arlington, VA (January 19, 2026)— Honor Flight Network is pleased to announce the election of Frank P. Kimler as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.  Kimler has served on the National Honor Flight Network Board for six years as the organization’s treasurer, and brings deep expertise in nonprofit governance, finance, and tax-exempt organizations to the role. Kimler has spent more than 25 years in public accounting, beginning his career at KPMG, LLP, and currently specializes in accounting and tax consulting for tax-exempt organizations and high net worth individuals at Nugent & Haeussler, PC, based in Montgomery, New York. Kimler served as Chairman of Hudson Valley Honor Flight, Inc. (one of the Honor Flight Network’s more than 130 hubs) for 10 years, since the organization’s incorporation.  Kimler also founded the Honor Flight’s out of Westchester County Airport, in White Plains, New York. His leadership at both the local and national levels has been instrumental in strengthening organizational sustainability and stewardship and brings a unique insight into this role. A dedicated advocate for veterans, Kimler’s passion for honoring and serving those who have served our nation was instilled by his father and grandparents, who served during the Vietnam War and World War II.
