In partnership with Thomas House Family Shelter, KDC proudly supported the 2026 Back-to-School Drive to help provide essential school supplies for children who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness. According to the National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE), students experiencing homelessness are significantly less likely to have the basic tools they need to succeed in school. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, children in the Thomas House Family Shelter program began the school year with dignity, confidence, and the resources they need to succeed. Arlene Corro's introduction to construction accounting began long before her career. Growing up, she helped manage the books for her father's residential construction company, giving her an early appreciation for the financial discipline that keeps projects moving successfully. Since joining KDC as Director of Accounting in September 2025, Arlene has become a key leader in the company's financial operations. She oversees accounts payable and receivable, billings, collections, cash flow forecasting, and supports the financial needs of both KDC and KDC Southwest. Her work provides critical support to both the accounting and operations teams, helping keep projects and the business running smoothly. What Arlene enjoys most is that no two days are alike. Whether reviewing billings, resolving challenges, forecasting cash flow, or mentoring her team, she approaches every responsibility with collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. One piece of advice that has guided her career is: "Stay willing to learn, ask questions, and do hard things. Growth isn't always comfortable, but it comes from pushing through challenges."
