At Harry's, we take our work very seriously. Our office pictures... less so. Joining the team comes with a little tradition: a shave gel portrait. It started as a joke, but we don't plan on stopping anytime soon. 🪒💙
Mammoth Brands (formerly Harry’s Inc.) is the modern CPG company behind category-leading brands Harry’s, Flamingo, Lume, Mando, and Coterie. We’ve built a new model—and home—for brands, founders, and talent looking to solve unmet needs, improve peoples’ lives, and ultimately challenge the status quo. Our mission is to “Create Things People Like More.” Simply put: everything we do should be better than what already exists. If it’s not, we don’t do it. This guides everything we do, from developing the best product experiences, to making Mammoth Brands a great place to work, to exploring innovative ways to give back to our community. We got our start in 2013 when our co-founders created Harry's. They built the brand differently—online first, prioritizing direct relationships with customers—and in the process learned they’d created something bigger: a playbook and platform that could help other brands grow and scale to their full potential. Today, Mammoth Brands is a growing portfolio of brands built by dedicated, entrepreneurial teams that live and breathe their millions of customers every day. Even as we grow, we take extra care to maintain the small, scrappy, entrepreneurial culture that helped to get us where we are today: to create a company that people like more. That better serves its customers, employees, and community.

I came back from paternity leave this month to find that someone on our supply chain team had built a chatbot, entirely on their own, that lets anyone in the org ask how much inventory is sitting at a 3PL warehouse in real time. This is the kind of thing that gets me excited. I love to see that the best AI adoption at Mammoth Brands isn't just coming from my team. It's coming from curious people across the business who see a problem and start building. Thanks to Jason Del Rey and The Aisle for sitting down with me to dig into how we're thinking about AI at Mammoth Brands. We had a wide-ranging conversation touching everything from how LLMs are changing the way we approach growth marketing, to why we're not worried about "token-maxxing.” You can read the full story below.

In the spring of 2019, I was waiting to board a flight to northwest Arkansas when I spotted two familiar faces who were maybe only celebrities in my e-commerce-obsessed brain: Jeff Raider and Andy Katz-Mayfield, the co-founders and co-CEOs of the men’s shaving brand and DTC era darling Harry's. A week earlier, the entrepreneurs had announced their intent to sell their company to Edgewell, a large CPG conglomerate that owns the Schick razor brand. Of course, I had to walk over and say hello. The founders introduced me to Edgewell's CEO, Rod Little, and explained that they were headed to Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas to discuss what the acquisition would mean for the country's largest physical retailer. But the planned marriage would be short-lived. The Federal Trade Commission ended up contesting the acquisition in the following months, pushing Edgewell to eventually back out. The great DTC acquisition dream was over. In the years since, Harry’s has raised more funding and remained a private, independent company while rebranding to Mammoth Brands. It now owns four other CPG brands beyond Harry’s, including the women’s shaving line, Flamingo, as well as Coterie, an upscale baby product brand it acquired late last year. Harry’s and its parent company have long prided themselves on being more agile than larger CPG giants like Procter & Gamble and Unilever. But I’ve been curious if and how that has changed in this new AI era. So I recently spoke with Mammoth’s Chief Technology and AI Officer Sandeep Chouksey, and discussed everything from wy Mammoth doesn't fear “token-maxxing” to the ERP data problem he's spending time trying to crack to how the company is using LLMs for advertising. He also told me of an AI rule some retailers are starting to hand down to the brands they carry. My latest from the latest The Aisle... https://lnkd.in/g3VCX77h
This past weekend, we closed out Pride Month with what’s become a Mammoth Brands tradition: celebrating with our team and community at Harlem Pride. It caps off a month of programming led by our Pride ERG, from a fireside chat with Yolo Akili Robinson of BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective), a longtime nonprofit partner, to a visit to the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art, the world's only art museum dedicated entirely to queer artists. Reflecting this year's NYC Pride theme, Pride for All, we focused on celebrating stories, experiences, and connection across the full breadth of the community. And as always, our commitment doesn't end when June does. Through our ongoing mental health work with partners like BEAM and The Trevor Project, we're in it year-round. To everyone who celebrated this month, we’re with you. Happy Pride!
We're proud to be featured on CNBC this weekend in an in-depth story about Mammoth Brands' ambitions to be the next great CPG company. Thank you to Melissa Repko and Amelia Lucas for sitting down with Andy Katz-Mayfield, Jeffrey Raider, and Jess Frenchman Jacobs to learn more about what we’re building. If you or someone you know has been a victim of Big Razor, it’s time to switch to Harry’s Plus. Long-lasting blades. Smooth shave. Fair price. If you don’t love it, you don’t pay. Case closed. NOTE: Our *actual* legal team wants you to know all product claims in this video are compared to Harry's Original razor, which is also awesome.

It’s been a year since we introduced Harry's Plus. We spent a decade working to create a next generation razor and better shaving experience for guys everywhere. At Harry's, we love hearing from customers, and they can explain Harry's Plus much better than I ever could. Here are some of my favorites: "The glide is incredibly smooth, almost like it's not even touching you — but then it's also one of the closest shaves I've ever had." "I never knew that shaving with a real razor could be so enjoyable." "There's no better shave product for the price. PERIOD." "I'm mad at Gillette." And if you want a look at what our 10-year journey looked like on Harry’s Plus, check out the film we made about it when we launched last year. Our German razor masters Florian and Sven steal the show.
Every year, we elect High-Five Ambassadors, a cohort of cross-functional leaders that drive volunteering and service efforts across Mammoth Brands. At Mammoth, one of our core values is "See The Person, Serve The People." We encourage every employee to give back, whether as a team or individually through our 5 days of paid volunteer time (what we call High Five Time). Our Ambassadors go above and beyond their day-to-day roles to make that happen. Together, our team contributes more than 3,000 hours of service annually, supporting dozens of nonprofits across the country, from beach clean-ups in Miami to meal delivery with Citymeals on Wheels. Huge congratulation to this year's crew who have already made a meaningful impact. Still basking in the joy of last week at Engage for Good! Flamingo and Girl Scouts were honored with a Gold Halo Award for the Best Physical or Mental Health Initiative for our brand-new Body Appreciation Badge Program 💚 And we had the special opportunity to share the *magic* behind our ways of working in underfunded issue areas at a workshop alongside Lauren Carson and Jenn Angelo. A true dream week! This work started with a simple but urgent insight: girls are growing up surrounded by messages about how their bodies look—and not nearly enough about what their bodies can do. Together, we set out to change that. Over the past two years, we partnered with Girl Scouts of the USA and an incredible group of advisory partners including Black Girls Smile Inc. and National Alliance for Eating Disorders to build the first-ever Body Appreciation badge line—programming designed to help girls build confidence, practice self-care, and develop a better relationship with their bodies from a young age. Today, more than 50,000 girls have already completed the program, with over 1 million to come in the years ahead. What’s most meaningful is seeing this work become part of everyday girlhood: troop meetings, conversations, and moments that shape how girls see themselves for the long term. Grateful to have worked alongside a dream team of collaborators including Jenn Angelo, Alexandra Behette, Jenna Amyot, Mary Elizabeth Jagroo on Girl Scouts and Maggie Hureau, Anna Wesche, Paige Willingham, Isha Kapadia, Macy McDonald, Becky Waddell, and the entire Flamingo team. This is what it looks like when we move from awareness to action together, building a movement from just the spark of an idea.
Last week, we welcomed 11th graders from Tottenville High School as part of the NYC Public Schools's Career Discovery Day. Students got a behind-the-scenes look at Mammoth Brands: an office and photo studio tour, a career panel, speed networking, and a hands-on razor handle design session, each offering a glimpse into different career pathways. Thank you to the students for their curiosity and thoughtful questions, and to our team for sharing their time and experiences!
