Project of the Week: USC Hybrid High offers a unique learning approach distinct from traditional classrooms. Emphasizing student ownership, the school allows students to progress at their own pace through online modules to master skill. The design features quad-pods for each grade, consisting of four classroom-like spaces around a shared open space, fostering a small community feel. The layout supports blended learning, reduces distractions, and maintains teacher visibility. 📸 : Eric Staudenmaier Ednovate Inc Pacific Charter School Development Blackwell Construction B&B Associates CW Howe Engineering Ecco Engineering SALT Landscape Architects

Congratulations to Ainsley Bauer , recipient of the 2026 IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter Student Recognition Award. This award recognizes an IIDA student member who is making a meaningful impact within their campus and region. Considering our Northern Pacific Chapter spans Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Alberta, and British Columbia, this is an incredible accomplishment. As a University of Idaho student, she testified in support of HB790 at the Idaho State Capitol, helping advance interior design legislation and contributing to the bill's passage. Her advocacy demonstrates the impact emerging professionals can have on the profession and the communities it serves. We're so fortunate to have Ainsley on the NAC team and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition. #IIDATOAST #IIDANPC #InteriorDesign #DesignAwards #DesignExcellence

We’re excited to have this new material display set up in our LA office!
The more I dive into this industry, the more passionate I become about flooring. There's a quiet beauty in the surfaces most people walk over without a second glance. One of the best parts of my job is showing just how creative you can get with the materials beneath our feet. Thank you to NAC for the opportunity to showcase our wood and tile collections. And a huge thanks to Brenda Patricia Castillejos & Ivannah Menjivar for organizing these displays! Spartan Surfaces

Universal, privacy-first locker room design benefits everyone. By rethinking these environments, schools can make dignity, safety, and learning central to student's daily experience. In a recent issue of Learning By Design Magazine, NAC's Felicia Martin and Philip Riedel, AIA shared how listening to schools, families, and students was key to understanding the challenges of designing changing spaces—and developing practical, replicable solutions.
