Our team had the opportunity to attend a Zillow Preferred Partner event in Atlanta last week - and it did not disappoint. Highlights included a session with senior economist Orphe Divouguy, who spoke to the resilience and continued growth of the real estate market, and a deep dive into how the Zillow Home Loans partnership strengthens the client experience from start to finish. The through-line of the entire event: it's all about the client - exceeding expectations and showing up with real expertise. Raleigh being recognized as one of the healthiest housing markets in the country was a great reminder of the market we get to work in every day.

This morning, MRED cut Zillow's access to its listing feed - removing Chicago-area listings from one of the most-visited real estate platforms in the country. This affects agents and sellers across Chicagoland, Eastern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana. But this isn't just a technology dispute. MRED rewrote its own rules to support Compass' private listing strategy - a scheme designed to keep homes off the open market, steer buyers toward Compass agents, and capture both sides of the commission. Every other brokerage, agent, and consumer in the market bears the cost of that arrangement. As Tiffany Williamson, President of Navigate Realty, put it: “What MRED did is simple - they changed the rules to benefit one company at everyone else's expense. That’s not competition.
