Today, we finally revealed a very special, beloved project! Handmade by the incredible students at Springer School and Center in Cincinnati, this masterpiece was created entirely from recyclable materials, thanks to the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub. With a strong focus on conservation, this project is a beautiful re-creation of our very own resident turtle, Denver! Want to check it out? It’s Pumpkin Glow season and our hosts had a chance to showcase their creativity during the 2nd annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Votes were cast during our host and volunteer glow and treat night. Can you guess the winner?

We recently celebrated a very special milestone - 25 years with our VP and Executive Director, Rebecca Foster!   Rebecca’s incredible journey with Newport Aquarium began back in 2000, when she joined the team as a Merchandise Team Lead. Over the years, her dedication, leadership, and passion for our mission have led her to now oversee and guide the entire organization.   Her story is one we share with every new host, a powerful reminder of the opportunities for growth, leadership, and long-lasting careers within our aquarium family.   Please join us in congratulating Rebecca on 25 amazing years!

This weekend we opened our brand new nursing and sensory rooms on the exhibit level near the middle of the guest journey. Penguin biologist Jenny Higgins wrote the Species Survival Plan Highlight article in the July/August 2025 edition of Association of Zoos and Aquariums Connect magazine. The article highlights our teams work with Gentoo Penguins, a species that we are helping save from extinction. Herschend Family Entertainment animal properties are proud to do this important work.
