What if your biggest opportunity is hiding behind the belief you're most wrong about? Adarsh spent years mastering software engineering, pursuing an ML PhD at Harvard before leaving to build Mercor. Then in February, he watched Claude Code do in seconds what he'd spent years training himself to do. Despite being at the frontier of AI, he'd underestimated how fast things were moving, and realized he'd been wrong to bet everything on one specific edge. He took it in stride, treating it as a reminder: you will always be a rookie. For me, that means staying honest about what you don't know, and building your team around people who see what you can't.
