"It definitely changed my life," says Tanner Mangum, Principal, North America ACG/SB Communications, who participated in The Opening as a player in 2011. "I know how impactful it is for these young players to come out and show the world what they’ve got. For kids who are chasing their dreams, this moment can help provide that opportunity." One year in. Six continents. 25 cities. 10,000 kids who proved the beautiful game belongs to everyone. ⚽🔥 Toma el Juego, Nike’s global street football tournament, took to the streets this year, turning metro stations, waterside parks and open-air arenas into pitches where the next generation of footballers competed for real stakes in front of real crowds. Breaking down the pay-to-play model, one city at a time. “Toma gave me the chance to be treated like a real athlete,” says Mateo Alcantar, a Toma participant featured in Nike’s "Rip the Script.” “I got a stage, a crowd — all the things the pros get — even though I’m a kid. Nike sees me as the future.” See the explosive moments from around the world: https://lnkd.in/g_4_8Zeb #NikeToma #JustDoIt #NikeFootball

At the LeBron James Innovation Center, we measure everything.    ⚽ Force plates in the turf. ⚽ 3D motion cameras overhead. ⚽ Timing gates clock sprint zones.   Welcome to the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) Football Pitch. It’s an 8,600-square-foot sport science facility where Nike researchers break the game down to build it back up. Better.   "Our research process is an important component of how we develop boots," says Joseph Helseth, NSRL Principal Researcher. "Utilizing the data we can capture and the expertise of our researchers, we can guide development through an objective lens. That allows us to make systems that take human performance somewhere new."   Explore the most high-tech space in football: https://lnkd.in/gpdpnQTG   #NikeFootball #NikeSportResearchLab #JustDoIt
