Feel Good Friday: Keeping Our Parks Beautiful If you live in NRH, you know our city is full of beautiful parks. In fact, there are over 36 parks, facilities, trails, and green spaces. And recently, one of our parks truly stood out. We heard from a resident who starts his mornings with a daily walk through Green Valley Park. He was so moved by the park’s beauty that he reached out to share his appreciation: “The park is always clean and neat, the soccer fields are well-maintained, and the playground is in great shape. Kudos to the maintenance team and staff that are there every day mowing and making needed repairs and improvements.” The dedicated members of our Parks Maintenance & Operations team that keeps Green Valley Park looking its best includes: Joey Ferreira, Matt Rohmer, Charles Guerra, Chance Rawlings, Coleson McCollum, Luke Allen, Frank Mercado, and John Celis. Joey has been serving NRH for more than 25 years, Matt for over 18, Charles for over 10, and the rest of the team brings between 1 and 7 years of service. These team members take great pride in keeping our parks beautiful in every season. Through early mornings, long days, unexpected Texas weather swings, and yes, even when the heat cranks up. And this month is the perfect time to celebrate them because July is National Parks and Recreation Month, a time to recognize our entire NRH Parks & Recreation Department for their commitment to connection, play, nature, and community well-being. Year round, they pour these values into everything they develop, create, provide, and care for throughout North Richland Hills. Our resident added, “In the evening, I often see families playing and children enjoying themselves. My wife and I returned to NRH for our retirement, and the park is a wonderful example of why we know we made the right decision coming back.” Thank you, NRH Parks & Recreation, for all you do to make our community so vibrant and for helping our community feel like home. #FeelGoodFriday #TeamNRH

I just wanted to thank you on behalf of our community and the HOA board.” He said that Nathan helped to clear up the problems they were having and made things very simple to understand. He shared that Nathan is an asset to NRH. Nathan’s daily work touches almost everything that helps a community to run smoothly. Whether he’s participating in infrastructure and development plans, addressing traffic flow concerns or helping to shape future development, he enjoys the challenge and opportunity to make improvements that can benefit NRH for years to come. Nathan believes that excellent customer service starts with listening. “It’s rewarding to work alongside people who are committed to maintaining and improving the City’s infrastructure, while at the same time, keeping residents’ needs at the forefront of the conversations.” When reflecting on what he appreciates about serving in the Public Works Dept., Nathan shared, “One of the things I enjoy most is that everyone brings a different perspective and area of expertise.
