Environmental stewardship starts with solving the hard challenges in everyday manufacturing. Novagard is honored to receive the Ohio Chemistry and Technology Council’s Environmental Excellence Award for the second year in a row! In 2024, off-specification RTV silicone and silicone fluid waste generated through our operations was sent to landfill due to the complexity of silicone chemistry and limited end-of-life recycling options. In 2025, our team changed that. Through a focused waste stream evaluation, improved process controls, and a strategic partnership with a specialized silicone recycler, Novagard established a reliable pathway to divert eligible silicone materials from landfill disposal. The results were significant: → Significantly reduced landfill disposal for silicone waste streams that were previously 100% landfilled → Achieved a 43% reduction in total silicone waste sent to landfill compared to the prior year → Established a scalable recycling framework to support future circular material strategies This initiative reflects Novagard’s commitment to practical, measurable environmental progress. It also lays the foundation for our next step: evaluating the potential use of recycled silicone fluid as a future raw material in select product applications. “This recognition represents more than a single project; it reflects our commitment to environmental stewardship and continuous improvement across the organization.
