Our New Mexico project team has poured the first half of the slab at our San Mateo Manor project! Wondering what all that yellow plastic is? It is a vapor barrier - a plastic membrane installed beneath the slab before concrete is poured. Once approved and inspected, it helps prevent ground moisture from migrating through the concrete, protecting the building from future flooring failures, mold, and other moisture-related issues. It may eventually be hidden beneath the concrete, but it plays an important role in the building’s long-term durability. We are proud to be working alongside owner Spire Development, Inc. and architect Jeebs & Zuzu to bring this important project to life. As Saddle Creek Village reaches the finish line, we are proud to celebrate the completion of a project that will have a lasting impact on the Houston community. This 72-unit affordable housing development was thoughtfully designed to provide quality homes while fostering connection through dedicated community spaces, including an After School Learning Center that will support local students and families for many years to come. Amenity spaces are furnished site signage is installed, and Certificates of Occupancy have been obtained. It's rewarding to see months of planning, coordination and craftsmanship culminate in a community that's ready to welcome its resident's home. Projects like Saddle Creek are only possible through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to serving others. We are grateful to have worked alongside Otak, Stewardship Development, Harris County Housing & Community Development, and Harris County Housing Finance Corp. to help bring this vision to life.
