QED Enterprises is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) with direct, hands-on expertise in the creation, review, and preferably approval of Major Research Equipment and Facilities Construction (MREFC) funding applications at the National Science Foundation (NSF). The ideal candidate has deep familiarity with the NSF lifecycle for major facilities—including Conceptual Design Review (CDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), and Final Design Review (FDR) as well as the development and evaluation of Project Execution Plans (PEPs), cost and schedule baselines, risk management plans, and the governance structures required under the NSF Major Facilities Guide (MFG). It was a moment that would change the world, though the men in that room could not yet know how. Outside, the city buzzed with the strange electricity of revolution. Inside, men spoke in low, grave voices, each aware that the British Crown would consider what they were about to do not an act of courage, but a hanging offense. Since that day, the spirit of these brave founding fathers has imbued our nation with fierce independence, an unrelenting drive to build, to invent, and to push beyond what anyone thought possible. For 250 years, Americans have met every challenge with grit and ingenuity, from the forge to the factory floor, from the frontier to the stars. And through every chapter of that story, it has been the American soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine who stood between freedom and those who would take it. They answered the call not for glory, but because the ideals written in that sweltering room in Philadelphia were worth defending with their lives. QED is proud to carry that same ethos into everything we do. Being Veteran Owned, we know firsthand that the values forged on those battlefields, duty, sacrifice, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to something greater than yourself, are not just military values.
