Here's the criteria for what keeps AI features switched on, and more importantly, what it takes for clinicians to trust that they're helping them do their work and provide the best patient care. 1️⃣ AI features should be the path of least resistance. They have to be built into existing workflows and extremely low-lift for clinicians to use. 2️⃣ AI has to be trusted. If a chart summary misses key points and nuance from unstructured conversations, clinicians won't trust it. They'll end up manually reviewing the chart anyway and doing twice the work. 3️⃣ AI has to be actionable. Clinicians can't be interrupted by alerts that don't provide value, and it can't add friction ahead of that next best step. At this health system, a patient was scheduled to discharge later the same day. The hospitalist had already documented malnutrition, but the MST screen still scored a 0 and no dietitian consult had been placed. Qventus surfaced four signals — weight loss, reduced intake, muscle loss, and the provider’s own notes. The dietitian got to the bedside in time, completed an NFPE, and confirmed severe malnutrition. Without that RD-confirmed assessment, the physician’s diagnosis would have been a denial waiting to happen. Qventus turned a likely write-off into a clinically defensible claim.
