  • 🏗️Construction is in session for an exciting $1.6 million restoration project at the historic McAuley School in West Chicago, Illinois. This former one-room schoolhouse is being transformed into a centralized hub for instructional coaches and a living educational resource that connects students and community members with the area's rich history. Working alongside ARCON Associates, Inc. and other stakeholders, we have provided comprehensive site design and surveying services to help bring this project from concept through construction. As recently featured in the Chicago Tribune, the project demonstrates how thoughtful restoration can preserve a treasured community landmark while creating new educational opportunities to serve future generations. https://loom.ly/Y-21cYg

  • Aging underground infrastructure doesn’t always require tearing up roads, disrupting neighborhoods, or rebuilding streetscapes. In our latest blog, raSmith project manager Mark Van Der Wegen, PE, shares how trenchless technologies are transforming the way municipalities renew critical infrastructure, reducing disruption, preserving roads and streetscapes, and minimizing risk to surrounding assets. He also highlights why trenchless solutions should be considered early in project planning to help control costs, schedules, and community impacts. Read more: https://loom.ly/lm_iFcw

  • It’s #ThrowbackThursday and today we are highlighting one of our exciting projects! What does it take to expand a museum while reimagining how visitors experience history? At the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, this project balanced modern exhibit space with a strong connection to its surroundings, including views of the Fox River. One of the standout structural elements is a three-pin arch system with circular steel trusses and custom connections designed to support both form and function. Take a closer look at how this unique project came together.

  • Discovered treasures, coworker camaraderie, a great cause ... there were so many highlights from our recent #AdoptAHighway cleanup! Even the weather cooperated (despite an uncertain forecast) as our volunteers removed 29 lbs. of garbage and recyclables from a one-mile area along WIS 164 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. This effort brings our year-to-date total to 79 lbs., proving that every litter bit helps! The Adopt-A-Highway program is just one of the many ways raSmith employees have fun while giving back and making a difference in the communities we serve.

  • Events like this make a real difference beyond a single day. The 16th Annual Christopher’s Shoot Against Childhood Cancer, taking place on July 10, brings people together to support children and families affected by cancer, and every dollar raised helps fund critical research and care. raSmith is proud to sponsor this event in support of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund. Wishing all participants a safe and successful day at the range. Learn more about the event by visiting https://loom.ly/UScT8aM
