  • We're excited to welcome Will Yoshimura to Rec as our new Product Design Lead. Will joins us from Harvey, where he helped design one of the fastest growing AI platforms for lawyers. Before that, he spent time at Robinhood getting his first taste of startup speed and 0-to-1 work, and cut his teeth in product design at LinkedIn and Meta after starting his career in graphic design, the craft that got him into all this in the first place. What drew Will to Rec was building AI for an exciting, real-world mission. In his words: "I've loved building tech that makes people's lives easier, and Rec is that idea at its best." We're thrilled to have Will bringing his design chops to Rec. Welcome to the team, Will!

  • What are the biggest opportunities for parks and recreation in Arizona over the next few years? What challenges are keeping leaders up at night? How are agencies thinking about AI, technology, and serving their communities? We're collecting those answers through Shaping the Future of Parks & Rec: A Survey for Arizona Leaders, a collaboration between Rec Technologies and Carmona Collective. The more voices we hear, the more valuable the results will be for parks and recreation professionals across the state. The survey is anonymous, and we'll share the findings publicly through a webinar and additional resources. If you haven't participated yet, we'd love to include your perspective! 👉 Take the survey: https://lnkd.in/gtSAjgrc

  • Save your spot for next week's webinar on building an AI culture that sticks. The Village of Park Forest didn't turn to AI overnight, and most teams don't. That's part of why this conversation is worth the time. Adina McCollough, CHW, Recreation Manager, and Kevin Adams, CPRP, Director of Recreation, Parks & Community Health for the Village of Park Forest, Illinois, will join Rec's Chris DesRoches to talk through how their department went from AI uncertainty to making it a core part of how their team works. You'll walk away with: - Real examples of AI in programming, events, communications, and outreach - Strategies for building staff confidence and getting leadership on board - Practical ideas you can try with your own team right away Whether your team is AI-curious or already experimenting, there's something here for you. • Happy Park and Recreation Professionals Day! 🎉 If you've ever watched your child come home from summer camp with stories they can't stop telling you, learned to swim at a community pool, or found your people in a rec league, a parks and rec professional helped make that happen, and so much more. They're the ones opening the gym doors early, staying late to reset the fields, and answering the tenth registration question of the day with a smile. At Rec, we're lucky to work with these folks every day, and we never stop being amazed by how much heart they bring to their communities. So today, our team wanted to say it directly. To every parks and rec professional: thank you. Your work is where community actually happens. #NRPAParkandRecDay

Rec is growing fast, and so is our engineering team. We're building the platform that powers parks and recreation departments across the country, from infrastructure and developer experience to payments, AI, and the products communities and staff rely on every day. It's meaningful work with complex challenges. Every feature we ship helps a family register for summer camp, a resident reserve a facility or attend a local event, and staff spend less time on administrative work so they can focus on serving their community. We're hiring: • Engineering Manager (Platform) • Senior Software Engineer (Payments & Finance) • Senior Software Engineer (Infrastructure) • Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) • Senior Software Engineer (Developer Experience) If you're looking for a place where you can solve unique engineering problems while building software that makes a real impact, we'd love to hear from you. 👉 Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gY-Qiuw9

  • Your community deserves a better way to do events. If you're forcing registration software to handle events or using a third-party ticketing tool that wasn’t built for parks and recreation, you're creating more work than you need to. Join us tomorrow, July 16, for a live demo of Rec Events & Ticketing and see what event management looks like when it's built specifically for parks and recreation. We'll cover ticket sales, check-in, revenue tracking, resident pricing, and more, followed by a live Q&A with Ankur Lal from our Product team. 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/gTBP9H4C
